Karthik (actor)
Murali Karthikeyan Muthuraman (born 13 September 1960), professionally known as Karthik, is an Indian actor primarily active in Tamil-language cinema. The son of veteran actor R. Muthuraman, he debuted as a lead in the 1981 romantic drama Alaigal Oivathillai directed by Bharathiraja, earning the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Male Debut. Over a career spanning more than four decades, Karthik has starred in over 125 films, often portraying romantic leads and demonstrating proficiency in dance and emotive roles, which led to his moniker Navarasa Nayagan (master of nine emotions).

His notable achievements include four Filmfare Awards South for Best Actor in Tamil and additional recognitions such as Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and a Nandi Award for his work in Telugu cinema, where he occasionally appeared under the name Murali. Key films highlighting his versatility encompass action dramas like Agni Natchathiram (1988) and rural-themed successes such as Kizhakku Vasal (1990), alongside romantic ventures including Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen (1998). Karthik has also ventured into politics and playback singing, contributing to hits across multiple South Indian languages.

Marriages and relationships
Karthik married actress Ragini in 1988, with whom he co-starred in the film Solaikuyil. The marriage lasted approximately four years before ending in divorce.
In 1992, Karthik married Rathi, the younger sister of Ragini. This union has been maintained since, with the actor dividing time between his two families as reported in media interviews. No further marriages or significant relationships have been publicly documented.

Karthik has three sons. The eldest, Gautham Ram Karthik (born September 12, 1989), entered the film industry as an actor with his debut in Mani Ratnam's Kadal (2013), marking a continuation of familial involvement in Tamil cinema.[61] In February 2025, he legally added "Ram" to his name, adopting Gautham Ram Karthik professionally.

From his first marriage, Karthik also has a second son, Ghayn Karthik, who maintains a low public profile without notable industry pursuits. His third son, Thiran Karthik, was born to his second wife and similarly lacks documented professional achievements in entertainment. Gautham Ram Karthik's acting career represents the primary transmission of legacy within the family, building on Karthik's own extensive filmography spanning over 120 movies.

In June 2012, Karthik was admitted to Apollo Hospitals on Greams Road in Chennai due to severe throat pain, which had persisted for some time.[63] He underwent scans and other diagnostic tests the following day, with medical reports indicating normal vital parameters.

On March 20, 2021, during active campaigning for the AIADMK-BJP alliance in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Karthik experienced sudden breathlessness and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai.[64][48] He tested negative for COVID-19, and hospital sources confirmed his condition as stable with no immediate complications reported.

Dulquer Salmaan controversies overview:-

Dulquer Salmaan, a prominent actor in Indian cinema, has had a relatively clean image compared to many of his peers. However, there have been a few controversies and gossips surrounding him. Here’s a succinct guide to the main points:-

Personal Life and Marriage:-

Arranged Marriage Speculations: There have been rumors about his marriage being arranged by his father, Mammootty, to maintain a family man image. "When he started considering cinema as his career choice, Mammootty arranged marriage for him to avoid gossips and to maintain a family man image."

Relationship Before Marriage: Some Redditors suggest that Dulquer and his wife, Amaal Sufiya, were in a relationship before their marriage, which was then staged as an arranged marriage. "The tea around is that it's not arranged. They were in a relationship in Chennai and DQ cunningly staged it as a completely arranged marriage."

Professional Choices and Controversies:-

Script Selection and Rejected Movies: Dulquer has been praised for his script selection, often rejecting movies that turn out to be flops. "He smartly stayed away from movies like Indian 2 and Thug Life, both of which turned out to be disappointments."

King of Kotha Backlash: His movie "King of Kotha" faced significant backlash, leading him to block critics on Twitter. "Took King of kotha failure too much to heart and blocked every person in Twitter who posted negative reviews."

Public Image and Perception:-

Plastic Surgery Rumors: There are rumors about him undergoing plastic surgery to improve his looks. "Dulquer Salmaan got the best out of his plastic surgeon".

Bi-Sexuality Rumors: Some gossips suggest that he is bisexual and has a boyfriend in Mumbai, though these are likely just rumors. "Bolly gossips say he's bi and has a BF in Mumbai".

Family and Nepotism
Comparison to Father: Dulquer often faces comparisons to his father, the legendary actor Mammootty, which can be a mixed blessing. "He also gets compared to his dad as he has set the bar high and which nepo product doesn't get compared to their partners?".

Business Ventures:-
Entrepreneurship: Beyond acting, Dulquer is involved in several business ventures, including a hospitality chain and an investment in an EV company. "He owns motherhood hospital chain".

Dulquer Salmaan has managed to maintain a relatively clean image despite these controversies, largely due to his professional choices and polite demeanor. "Notorious for rash driving. Clean otherwise. Known to be polite and has no airs about his status."

Lokesh Kanagaraj on 'promoting' drug culture in his films:-

Lokesh Kanagaraj listed out the social awareness campaigns he is part of.

Responding to the criticisms that his films 'glorify' and 'promote' drug culture, filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj listed out the initiatives he is a part of to ensure that the young generation doesn't get addicted to drug abuse.

The director said, "I really don't get how having protagonists fighting drug culture in my films amounts to 'glorifying' the same. But I have to clear this up now. I usually do not share the social welfare activities I engage in, but to put an end to the controversies, I think I need to. I initiated a 'Say No To Drugs' campaign among Coimbatore colleges."

He said that through the initiative, he is also incentivising such students by taking them under his wings. "We conducted a short film contest on the anti-drug theme, and I announced that the student whose film topped the 60 films we received is working as an AD with me now. How else am I supposed to prove I am socially responsible?"

Last directed Rajinikanth starrer Coolie, Lokesh Kanagaraj will next be seen making his acting debut as the lead in Arun Matheswaran's DC, opposite Wamiqa Gabbi, and is helming Allu Arjun's next, tentatively titled AA23.

Unknown Facts About Famous Bollywood Movies

Bollywood is more than just a film industry; it is a global phenomenon that blends music, emotion, and larger-than-life storytelling. For over a century, Indian cinema has produced masterpieces that have transcended borders. But behind the shimmering lights and catchy dance numbers lie stories of struggle, coincidence, and mind-blowing secrets that even the most dedicated fans might not know.
In this deep dive, we explore unknown facts about famous Bollywood movies, ranging from the golden classics like Sholay and Mughal-e-Azam to modern blockbusters like 3 Idiots and Dangal.

1. Sholay: The Hidden Struggle of Gabbar Singh
Released in 1975, Sholay is often cited as the greatest Bollywood film of all time. However, the iconic villain Gabbar Singh, played by Amjad Khan, almost didn’t make it to the screen.
The Voice Dilemma: Scriptwriter Javed Akhtar initially felt that Amjad Khan’s voice was too “weak” and high-pitched for a menacing dacoit. There was serious talk of replacing him with Danny Denzongpa.
The Secret British Crew: To capture the high-octane train robbery sequence, director Ramesh Sippy secretly hired British stunt coordinators and technicians. Their involvement was kept under wraps for years due to potential objections from Indian film unions.
Real-Life Romance: Dharmendra was so smitten with Hema Malini during the shoot that he reportedly paid the light boys to make mistakes during their scenes. This allowed him to enjoy more “retakes” and spend more time embracing her.

2. Mughal-e-Azam: A Trilingual Experiment
The 1960 epic Mughal-e-Azam was a monumental feat of filmmaking. What most people don’t know is that it was originally shot as a trilingual project.

Every single scene was filmed three times: once in Hindi/Urdu, once in Tamil, and once in English. When the Tamil version performed poorly at the box office, the producers immediately scrapped the English version, even though a significant portion of it was already completed.

3. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ): The Tom Cruise Connection
It is impossible to imagine anyone other than Shah Rukh Khan as Raj Malhotra. However, the original vision for the film was very different.
Hollywood Ambitions: Director Aditya Chopra initially wanted the lead character to be an American. He actually considered approaching Tom Cruise for the role to make it a cross-cultural romance.
Saif Ali Khan’s Refusal: Before SRK signed on, the role was offered to Saif Ali Khan, who turned it down. Shah Rukh himself was hesitant at first because he wanted to maintain his “action hero” and “villain” image from films like Baazigar and Darr.

4. 3 Idiots: Real-Life Engineering and Drunken Chaos
3 Idiots isn’t just a movie; it’s a case study for students in various parts of the world. But the production had its own “idiotic” (and brilliant) moments.
Authentic Drunkenness: For the famous scene where Rancho, Farhan, and Raju are drunk on the water tank, Aamir Khan suggested they actually drink alcohol to make the scene look realistic. The actors got so drunk that they ran out of film stock, and the crew had to wait for hours to get more while the trio stayed in character.
Aamir’s “Stillness” Rule: To play a college student at the age of 44, Aamir Khan observed his nephew and noticed that youth are always full of energy. As a result, Aamir ensured he was never standing perfectly still in any shot—he is always swaying or moving slightly.
Drone Innovation: The drone (UAV) shown in the film was a real prototype developed by a student at IIT. After the movie’s success, the creators of that drone received a multi-million dollar contract from the Indian Army.

5. Lagaan: A Record for International Casting
Aamir Khan’s Lagaan (2001) made history by reaching the final five at the Oscars. Beyond its cinematic excellence, it holds a unique industry record: the maximum number of British actors ever cast in a single Bollywood movie. Because the plot centered on a cricket match against the British Raj, the production had to fly in dozens of actors from the UK, creating a truly international set in the middle of the Kutch desert.

6. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara: The Tourism Catalyst
Zoya Akhtar’s ZNMD is credited with changing the way Indians travel.
The Spain Effect: Following the film’s release, there was a 32% to 65% increase in Indian tourists visiting Spain. The movie is now used as a marketing case study in Spanish universities to demonstrate how cinema can drive national tourism.
Tomato Crisis: For the “La Tomatina” festival scene, the production couldn’t rely on local Spanish supplies because it was off-season. They had to import 16 tonnes of tomatoes from Portugal to recreate the festival authentically.

7. Rockstar: Why the Movie Was Shot in Reverse?
Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar is known for Ranbir Kapoor’s intense transformation. Interestingly, the film was shot in reverse chronological order.
The climax and the later parts of the movie, where Jordan has long, messy hair and a beard, were filmed first. The reason? The makers didn’t want to use wigs or extensions. They waited for Ranbir to grow his hair to the maximum length, shot the ending, and then gradually cut his hair to film the earlier, “clean-cut” college scenes.

8. Dangal: A Global Phenomenon in China
While Dangal was a massive hit in India, its success in China was unprecedented.
The Non-English Record: It became the highest-grossing non-English foreign film in China, earning over $190 million.
Aamir vs. Modi: At the peak of the film’s popularity, Aamir Khan’s followers on the Chinese social media platform Sina Weibo surpassed those of the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

Hrithik’s Marriage Proposals: After Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai released, Hrithik Roshan reportedly received over 30,000 marriage proposals in a single month.

The “Gerua” Plane: In the song Gerua from the movie Dilwale, SRK and Kajol dance on a broken plane. That plane is a real wreckage of a C-47 Skytrain that crashed on a beach in Iceland in 1973.

Sridevi’s Early Start: At the age of 13, the legendary Sridevi played the role of Rajinikanth’s stepmother in the Tamil film Moondru Mudichu.

The First Sound Film: Alam Ara (1931) was India’s first talkie. It had so much hype that police had to be called to control the crowds at the premiere.

Why Do These Facts Matter?
Understanding the “behind-the-scenes” of Bollywood helps us appreciate the labor and luck involved in filmmaking. Whether it’s the technical risks taken in Sholay or the marketing genius of Aamir Khan, these stories remind us that Bollywood is as much about human perseverance as it is about glamour. Bollywood continues to evolve, but these hidden gems from the past remain the foundation of its rich heritage. The next time you watch 3 Idiots or DDLJ, you’ll see them in a whole new light.

Best Movie Endings of All Time in Bollywood

Bollywood has a unique way of staying with us long after the theater lights come on. Whether it’s a tragic sacrifice, a mind-bending twist, or a triumphant moment of justice, the final minutes of a Hindi film often define its legacy. A great ending doesn’t just wrap up the story—it elevates it.
In this comprehensive guide, we explore the best movie endings of all time in Bollywood, ranging from the golden age of cinema to modern-day psychological thrillers.

The Power of the Climax in Indian Cinema
In Bollywood, the climax is often referred to as the “paisa vasool” (worth the money) moment. Historically, Indian audiences leaned toward happy endings where the hero wins and the family reunites.3 However, over the last few decades, filmmakers have experimented with ambiguity, tragedy, and shock value.

According to industry studies, nearly 70% of moviegoers claim their lasting impression of a film is determined solely by its ending.5 This is why directors like Sriram Raghavan or Sanjay Leela Bhansali spend months perfecting the final act.

1. Andhadhun (2018): The “Can He See?” Mystery

Perhaps the most debated ending in modern Bollywood history is Sriram Raghavan’s Andhadhun.

The Plot Twist
Throughout the film, we watch Akash (Ayushmann Khurrana), a pianist who fakes blindness, get caught in a web of murders.6 In the final scene, years later in Europe, Akash tells his ex-girlfriend Sophie a harrowing story of his escape. As he walks away, he uses his cane to neatly strike a can out of his path.

Why it’s Iconic
The “can-kick” left audiences stunned. Did he regain his sight? Was he lying about the entire climax? This open-ended finale turned Andhadhun into a cult classic, sparking thousands of internet theories.8

2. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995): The Train Scene
You cannot discuss Bollywood endings without mentioning the most famous train station in cinematic history.

The Moment
Amrish Puri’s character, the stern Baldev Singh, finally lets go of his daughter Simran’s (Kajol) hand, uttering the legendary line: “Ja Simran ja, jee le apni zindagi” (Go Simran, go live your life). Simran runs alongside the moving train as Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) reaches out to pull her aboard.

Why it’s Iconic
It is the ultimate symbol of liberalization and traditional values merging. It wasn’t just a girl catching a train; it was the victory of love over patriarchy, cemented by one of the most romantic visuals in global cinema.

3. Kahaani (2012): The Mother Durga Revelation
Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani redefined the suspense thriller genre in India.

The Ending
We spend the whole movie sympathizing with a pregnant Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan) searching for her missing husband in Kolkata during Durga Puja.10 In the final minutes, we realize the pregnancy was a prosthetic ruse. Vidya was an assassin/agent on a mission to avenge her husband’s death.

Why it’s Iconic
The timing of the climax—amidst the immersion of Goddess Durga idols—was poetic. It portrayed the protagonist as a modern-day deity delivering justice, leaving the audience breathless with its sheer audacity.

4. Sholay (1975): Sacrifice and Justice11
Sholay is the definitive “Masala” film, but its ending is surprisingly somber.

The Climax
Jai (Amitabh Bachchan) sacrifices his life to save his friend Veeru (Dharmendra) and Basanti. The film ends with the image of Thakur (Sanjeev Kumar) finally confronting Gabbar Singh, and Veeru leaving the village on a train, looking out at the horizon where his best friend once stood.

Why it’s Iconic
Most 70s films preferred “all-live” happy endings. By killing off a lead hero, Sholay added a layer of pathos and realism that made the victory against Gabbar feel hard-earned and deeply emotional.

5. A Wednesday! (2008): The Power of the Common Man
Neeraj Pandey’s directorial debut is a masterclass in tension.

The Final Reveal
A man (Naseeruddin Shah) threatens to blow up Mumbai unless four terrorists are released. The police comply, only for the “terrorist” to kill the criminals himself. He reveals he isn’t part of any organization; he is just a “stupid common man” tired of living in fear.

Why it’s Iconic
The final monologue about the frustration of the average citizen resonated deeply with the Indian public. It remains one of the most cathartic endings in Bollywood history.

6. Rang De Basanti (2006): The Ultimate Sacrifice
This film shifted the paradigm of how patriotism is portrayed on screen.

The Ending
A group of university students takes over a radio station to confess to the killing of a corrupt Defense Minister. They choose not to flee, allowing the specialized forces to gun them down while they laugh and joke with each other, paralleling the deaths of freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh.

Why it’s Iconic
The ending was a bold political statement. It suggested that sometimes, the only way to fix a broken system is through extreme sacrifice, leaving the youth of India inspired and devastated simultaneously.

7. Drishyam (2015): Hidden in Plain Sight
Drishyam proved that a hero doesn’t need to throw punches to win; he just needs to be smarter.

The Twist
Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) spends the entire movie protecting his family from a murder investigation.13 In the end, even after the police dig up his backyard, they find nothing. The final shot reveals that Vijay buried the body under the floor of the newly constructed police station itself.

Why it’s Iconic
It is the ultimate “checkmate” move. The irony of the police sitting on top of the very evidence they are looking for makes this one of the most satisfying thriller endings ever filmed.

8. Anand (1971): The Voice Lives On
Anand is perhaps the most famous “sad” ending in Bollywood.

The Moment
The audience knows from the start that Anand (Rajesh Khanna) is dying of cancer. However, when the moment finally comes, a pre-recorded tape of Anand’s voice begins to play, saying “Zindagi aur maut toh uparwale ke haath mein hai…” (Life and death are in the hands of God).

Why it’s Iconic
It transformed a moment of death into a celebration of life. There wasn’t a dry eye in the theater, and it solidified Rajesh Khanna’s status as the original superstar.

9. Masaan (2015): Finding Hope in Grief
Independent cinema often provides the most nuanced closures.

The Ending
Two separate stories of grief—Deepak (Vicky Kaushal), who lost his lover, and Devi (Richa Chadha), who is haunted by a scandal—finally converge at the Ganges in Sangam. They meet on a boat, and a small smile is shared.

Why it’s Iconic
It’s a quiet, poetic ending. It doesn’t offer a “happily ever after” but suggests the beginning of healing. In a land of loud climaxes, Masaan’s subtlety was revolutionary.

10. Baazigar (1993): The Anti-Hero’s Fall
Before Shah Rukh Khan was the “King of Romance,” he was the king of the dark ending.

The Climax
In a brutal rooftop fight, the anti-hero Ajay/Vicky kills the villain but is mortally wounded himself. He dies in his mother’s arms, having finally avenged his father’s death.

Why it’s Iconic
It was rare for a mainstream hero to die after committing several murders himself. It challenged the audience’s morality—they wanted him to win despite his crimes. This moral ambiguity was ahead of its time.

11. Talaash (2012): The Supernatural Twist
Aamir Khan’s Talaash starts as a gritty police procedural and ends in the ethereal.

The Twist
The mysterious woman Rosie (Kareena Kapoor), who has been helping Inspector Surjan solve a case, is revealed to be the ghost of a sex worker who died in the same spot years earlier. She wasn’t just an informant; she was seeking justice for her own forgotten murder.

Why it’s Iconic?
While controversial for some, the twist added a haunting, melancholic layer to a story about grief and “finding” what is lost.

8 Of The Most Savage Moments Ft. Kriti Sanon & Tiger Shroff From Koffee With Karan Season 7:-

In the episode of Koffee With Karan Season 7, Kriti Sanon and Tiger Shroff graced the Koffee couch. And this pair has arguably been the most subtle yet savage guests this season.

Although the Heropanti co-stars portrayed themselves as quiet and shy, their responses were by no means uninteresting. They were really knocking it out of the park. And here are some of the most savage moments from the episode you can’t miss.

1. Similar to Kjo, Tiger is unyielding.
Tiger matched the energy to dodge Karan Johar’s repeated demands to uncover his guests’ romantic relationships. And extremely subtly.

2. And that’s how you give it back.
It isn’t that easy to to make Tiger spill the beans.

3. When Kriti emphasised that there is no single definition of success.
When questioned if the fact that some of her films don’t receive the same level of love bothered her, Kirti discreetly brought up a fact about the box office.

4. When Tiger, while not trying, managed to be hilarious.
It appears that Tiger is aware that he does not require the help of the ‘manifestation couch’.

5. When Tiger was completely fine with Kriti receiving an extra point.
Despite the fact that the actor comes out as being quite modest, he was confident when in the lead and showed it. And do we adore a man who is self – assured?

6. When Kriti said she was willing to push herself as a performer.
The actress subtly stated that she would appreciate having opportunities similar to those of her peers when questioned if she was envious of or inspired by their work.

7. When Tiger Shroff touched the hearts of many introverts out there.
In essence, Tiger represents everyone who is the most reluctant to attend a party, and we can all strongly relate to it.

8. Wait, What?!
When Tiger provided an idiotic question with an even more absurd response. Chaotic energy unleashed!

Some of Priyanka Chopra's photo dumps are quite concerning to be honest. I’ve noticed this a couple of times now.

Being a mom now, it's not sure what’s gotten into her head to post some of the pictures she does of other kids, while very artfully covering her own kids face. Kids are all kids, not just hers. I wonder what those other kids parents have to say about it.

This is specifically in reference to her most recent photo dump where there’s a little girl in a very uncompromising position in a swim suit - which would undoubtedly attract lord knows who on the internet. But honestly she’s lost her marbles.

If she’s made up her mind to not show the face of her own kid on the internet, good on her. But that’s not what she’s doing though is it? Atleast not completely.

She’s so PR obsessed, and in attempts to rack up an image of being the perfect mother coordinating play dates, she is okay with violating the privacy of other children over hers?

Someone should really knock some sense into her head. I’m not even a mum and I felt so alarmed when I saw that to be honest.

A post from Reddit, by a concerned citizen.
