kpmg tu audit firm. takpe, suami kau sure tau.
untuk bergelar akauntan, dia kena layak jadi ahli MIA (malaysian institute of accountants). |

ooo... bila org tu is an MIA member.. means dia dah boleh digelar accountant la.. no matter apa ke nama post dia skrg. gitu...
MIA ni recognised body la ye. husband aku MIA member. n sejak dia jadi member.. interview pon lebih cepat dapat. tapi skrg ni.. selagi tak dapat a better job.. selagi tu la kene dok melangut kt company lama tu. letih dah. abis2 pon dia buat part time freelance aje. masyuk gak ek profesional job ni. aku tgk dia key in gitu gini sket2... 2 3 ratus gak dapat. tapi tu la.. bukan slalu leh dpt... |

Ask your husband to do MICPA.
CPA-qualified accountant is in major demand, anyone can be an MIA member, it's so easy, but not everyone can pass MICPA.
For fresh graduate, I would recommend this steps if you want "masyuk" income...
Degree (second upper or first) > ACCA while at Big4 + 3 years experience so you are fully qualified ACCA and MIA member > do MICPA > two options here: stay at big4 and hope (pray hard that you can withstand the office politics) that you'll become partner or apply for managerial position at commercial company
The highest title that you can get working in finance sector (not neccessarily the highest paid, sometimes partners get paid more) is by becoming CFO. (Chief Financial Officer) - CFO can probably get a salary of 30k-50k a month if it's a well-established company. Sometimes, I think accountants are underpaid, I know engineers who earn more than 50k a month. WTF?
If you have a lot of contacts, it's probably a good idea to open your own auditing firm when you have passed MICPA. You need plenty of contacts to secure constant stream of projects.
OF COURSE, ALL OF THIS IS JUST THEORY. WE ALL KNOW THAT LIFE IS WAYYY HARDER THAN JUST A SIMPLE PLAN.

Well..you can take ACCA course privately but instead of joining a class, you may want to buy their self-study kit and study the syllabus yourself since it's pretty pointless to pay for something you can't fully use.
Be caution that even without attending class, the whole thing is still pretty expensive since fees and everything has to be paid in British Pounds. (you might want to apply for loan or grant) It will also be very hard to pass the exam without formal guidance from a lecturer, but it is doable if you are an ultra-hardworking person. ACCA, especially part 3 is wayy harder than degree but as long as you have a decent ability in writing/reading in english, it should just be a case of practicing questions over and over and over again. |

hmm... aku dah try suggest kt husband pasal kpmg tu.. n he knows that co. n dia takmo.. he said that struggle gila2... but sometimes still underpaid gak. n now bos dia skrg dok advice dia soh amik license utk jadi auditor. but it will take few years more in this position. huhu.. okla kot..
cumanye.. as an auditor pon.. belum tentu lebat. actually.. aku bukan aim for 30 or 40k permonth. but at least reasonable la.. ini.. takkan la dengan xpriens for 5 years... degree in acc... gaji tak sampai 2k. imagine la.. budak fresh grad pon senang2 boleh dapat starting sedap2.. masuk lembaga hasil.. sah2 nk 3k gakla skali allowance cola apa sume tu. kadang tension jugak. usaha.. bukan tak usaha.. interview.. merata dah dia pegi... spa... calon simpanan juruaudit. ntah bila la nk dapat. taktaula... tapi syukur gak sbb dia taknak lari dari field accounting. at least... bole la klau nk apply license tu.. cuma kene tunggu lagi 2 tahun kot baru layak. |

Auditor kat big4 struggle? hmmm.... kalo pasal duit mula2 je selalu, lepas qualified gaji naik banyak, gerenti lebih 3k upon chartered qualification...
anyway, nak masuk big4 susah, probably 3 kali ganda lagi susah daripada nak masuk government sebab dia ambil budak second upper/first class or overseas grad. Ramai budak UK-grad sumer interview kat UK dulu sebelum dia serap masuk malaysia punya branch.
byk org struggle kat big4 sebab x sanggup buat keje banyak, stay late sampai midnight untuk meet deadlines, travel etc..memang susah sikit kalo ada family....
kalo boleh suruh husband you try apply je kat big4...sebab kat sana org lebih work-motivated and have higher aspirations... keje kat company kecik boleh buat kita terleka... |

Which professional paper is better?MICPA or ACCA? |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Take both. They are different and MICPA also gives exemption to ACCA holder. |

just want to add,
kalau rasa macam tak sanggup nak cope with audit work yg memang demand a lot of your time, and energy, then, i suggest try masuk multi national companies.. they pay well even for accounts exec...in fact, at par with what the big 4 auditors with say, 2 years experience get.. this is what i found out when i was doing audit..
but of course, kalau nak move up, in the long term, having acca or micpa or cpa is what i would say a necessitiy. |

why need to take both the ACCA and MICPA since both also professional paper?Meanwhile, are you sure MICPA does not give any exemption for the ACCA paper? The information i know that MICPA do not give any exemption to ACCA. |

lepas pass ACCA, ambik 2 more papers saja untuk qualify for MICPA. once a member of MICPA, boleh pakai title CPA. ACCA tak ada title sebegini.
working in companies (even multi-national companies) does not mean an easy life. jangan tersilap buat andaian sebegini. in fact, working in companies mungkin membawa lebih banyak tanggungjawab yang tidak terhad kepada bidang akaun sahaja. banyak perkara lain yang perlu diketahui, malah mungkin lebih menyibukkan berbanding dengan working in big 4.
update: cfo transmile has taken an absence of leave ye... :hmm: |

dulu aku amek degree acc sekerat jalan, pastu aku convert ke degree finance. Basic acc aku memg ok.. cume tak tau asal aku sengal masa second yer aku g tukar ke finance just because masa tu pointer aku jatuh 2.00.
lepas aku tukar course finance, barule pointer aku mencanak2 naik. tapi lepas grad, aku mcm susah sket dapat keje..Rate2 kawan aku yg pointer busuk tapi degree acc, senang2 dapat keje. At last, aku dapat keje kat manufacturing company sbg acc executive. pastu aku dapat better offer dari company GLC sbg acc executive gak. Tapi GLC ni company investment. So, selain buat acc aku ade gak buat analyst.
Yang aku rase ralat, sekarag ni aku rase membazir aku tukar course dulu, sbb sekarg aku dok buat acc gak. Tapi gaji tak same dgn degree acc. Gaji aku rendah sket la sbb aku budak finance.
aku nak tanye pada korg yg berpengalaman, ape yg sesuai dgn hala tuju career aku nih. Bole ke aku nak amek ACCA ke, MIA ke CIMA ke sedangkan aku xde degree in accounting tapi keje in accounting field. |

one option ialah ambil ACCA, kalau masih nak go ahead in an accounting world. with your current degree, memang tak boleh jadi member MIA. |
