10/03/2006: Ming Dao Kisses and Mike He Retreats
Mike He JunXiang and Ming Dao, two very manly men, unexpectedly kissed for the cameras! Former host Mike He returned during yesterday's TVBS-G's "Yu Le Xin Wen (Entertainment News)" to offer his congratulations/support on their return to the hour-long format, only to be surprised by current host, XiaoXian, who had an unusual request. He asked Mike to lock lips with special guests 183Club's Ming Dao to demonstrate a "Brokeback" kind of love. For the inexperienced Mike He, the experience was very nerve-wracking... after their "kiss," the still shaken Mike exclaimed, "I'm so frightened!"
Because of popular demand, "Yu Le Xin Wen (Entertainment News)" returned yesterday from a half-hour slow to its original one-hour duration. In the commercials for its return, XiaoXian asks, "Do you have time (to watch me)?" Yesterday, former host Mike He took time out of his busy schedule to lend XiaoXian a hand, returning for the day to co-host the episode with him. The special guests of the day were 183Club, and, during the first segment of the show, called "Best Q," the "Brokeback" question was raised. A Malaysian fan had submitted a "hot" question for the group: do they "play kiss (stage kiss, I think)," and could they please demonstrate the skill? Surprisingly, 183Club didn't object to the question, answering instead that, because the "group affection" is really strong, something like "stage kissing" is nothing. They even teamed up with XiaoXian to pressure Ming Dao and Mike He to demonstrate the technique.
At first, the two actors were very embarrassed, and they were unsure of how to "proceed" with the challenge. Eventually, they decided to play "rock, paper, scissors" to decide who would be the kisser and who would be the kissee. On the sidelines, (Johnny) Yan XingShu kept saying things like, "Oh! The person who loses has to make the first move!" Because Ming Dao was the loser, he had to move in for the kiss. He was very cautious at first, only gingerly putting his cheek against Mike's and pretending to kiss him. Naturally, this action left everyone feeling gipped and unsatisfied, demanding that they "do it again."
Ming Dao, though, hasn't earned the title of "Idol Drama Prince" without reason... his experience is extremely deep and broad. He came up with an ingenuous method: Ming Dao's character and Mike He's character had not seen each other in a long time, but one day they unexpectedly meet up in a coffee shop. Scarcely had he finished outlining the scene-- indeed, while he was still talking-- Ming Dao had already caught Mike's face in his hands and begun kissing him. Mike He, however, backed away several steps in surprise.
