Assalamualaikum,

Saya mohon pertolongan. Saya menggunakan Windows Server 2003. Begini masalahnya tentang shared folder di server.

Kes pertama
Nama folder: Folder1
Permissions: nurhayati --> full control
Security: nurhayati --> full control

Masalahnya ialah saya tidak dapat mengakses langsung folder tersebut dari PC saya yang mana saya ialah nurhayati. Dia akan keluar message box begini:
\\Folder1 is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Access is denied.

Kes kedua
Nama folder: Folder2
Permissions: Everyone --> read only
                 nurhayati --> full control
Security: nurhayati--> full control

Saya boleh buka folder ini dari PC saya. MAsalahnya walaupun saya full control saya tidak dapat menulis/modify dalam folder tersebut. Dia akan keluar message box seperti ini:
"Unable to create the folder 'NewFolder'. Access is denied"

based on your detail, i assume your server nor your pc is part of any windows domain. if that's the case, the easiest way is to make sure the usernames and passwords on your pc and server are identical. if usernames are the same, retype the password to match one of the other.

in that case, remove the share and reshare the folder. then reset all the security and permission settings. may be the existing setup is corrupted somehow.

if still doesn't work, add your domain username to local users group. if you are an admin to the server, add your domain username to local admin group.

if within active directory, masa nak add permissions, make sure that file permissions apply to all files and subdirectories recursively.

another thing, takut your system ada conflict dengan usernames. mungkin ada 2 types of user, one is local to your PC, and another one is given by the server.

tp oobi punya suggestions memang best.

nak kena buka balik buku ttg file permissions nih...

ok, try this. login as local admin to the server. remove the share of the folder. regain the ownership of the folder.

dis-join the server from the domain and re-join. sometime its domain membership has problem. add your domain username to local user group or local admin group. re-share the folder and assign the permission accordingly.

if still doesn't work, dis-join your pc from the domain and re-join.

kalau tak jalan juga, try share the folder with admin share by putting $ at the end of the share name (when you share the folder). then, map the folder to your pc (and don't forget the $ when you map) - eg.: \\servername\sharedfolder$.

my network admin has set the server jadi additional domain controller. the problem is, i cannot do remote desktop. so, network admin tak jadikan balik dia jadi additional domain controller. baru saya boleh remote desktop.

lepas tu, still masalah tu masih ada. now the miracle is, dah boleh dah modify the folder tu. cuma my concern is takut dia tak betul balik. ntah dengan aku aku sekali pening.

based on this, the problem was probably caused by the server membership issue with the domain. also, even if your server is a dc, you should still be able to rdp to the server. the only way you could not is if the group policy is set as such. dc security is just like any other server except that it controls your access to the domain and all stuffs pertaining to the domain. the security change when you set it accordingly.

so, by temporarily assigned your server as a dc, it probably fixed the issue (as it's able to manage user accounts directly) and refreshed its domain membership - same as if you disjoined and re-joined the domain..
