Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan are set to return for The Karate Kid sequel. Breck Eisner, who has directed the gritty horror film The Crazies and comedy-action Sahara, is to take the reins on the second instalment, reported Deadline. The 2010 film, a remake of the 1984 movie, starred the 15-year-old as kung-fu student Tre Parker and Jackie as his mentor Mr Han. Co-produced by Jaden's parents Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith and directed by Harold Zwart, it was a box office hit, grossing 56 million US dollars (£33 million) on its opening weekend and ended with 343 million US dollars (£205 million) worldwide. Jaden, who was last seen starring opposite his father in sci-fi adventure After Earth, has been focusing on his music career. And Jackie has been working on Chinese films and managing a K-Pop band.
