Indonesian Navy Set To Procure Missile Boats Armed With NSM

The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) is planning to procure fast missile boats armed with Naval Strike Missile (NSM). The information was shared by several local media.

Admiral Yudo Margono, Chief of the Indonesian Navy, stated the Indonesian Navy’s intention to acquire NSM during a meeting with officials fromlocal shipbuilder PT Lundin, Norwegian defense company Kongsberg and local engineering company PT Datareka Integrasia in Jakarta on February 9, 2022.
The discussion focused on three primary topics: upgrading the new trimaran fast attack craft, the KRI Golok, acquiring fast missile boats, and procuring NSM.
Kongsberg representatives delivered a presentation on the products, emphasizing that the NSM is a missile that is suitable with the Indonesian Navy’s area of responsibility, which is archipelagic in nature. They also stated that the maximum range of the missile, which can extend to 250 km, will increase the firepower and effectiveness of the Indonesian Navy.
According to the local reports, Kongsberg also mentioned during the presentation that the missiles could be placed on a 33-ton, fast-attacking boat capable of reaching speeds of up to 55 knots. The boats are expected to surprise their foes and, when necessary, unleash advanced NSMs. These boats would be assigned to a large unit or would sail autonomously.

Singapore Airshow 2022: PT Dirgantara to sweeten deal for Philippine patrol aircraft requirement
Indonesian state-owned aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara (PTDI) is sweetening its offer for the Philippine Air Force's (PAF's) requirement for two maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) platforms by offering to work with local industry players on the project.
A PTDI representative told Janes at Singapore Airshow 2022 that the company has been unsuccessful in making a bid in the programme multiple times since 2014, but will now change its strategy to a more direct approach instead.
Given that the bidding process has failed multiple times because of technical reasons, PTDI expects the Philippine Department of Defense (DND) to begin approaching selected vendors directly. In anticipation of this, PTDI has begun arranging proposals that can be taken with Philippine companies should it be selected for the programme.
Details of these proposals cannot be revealed because of confidentiality concerns, said the representative. However, the aircraft that will be offered for the Long Range Patrol Aircraft (LRPA)programme is still the maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) variant of the CN235, which is the same aircraft type that has been submitted to the DND during past bidding attempts.
Penandatanganan License Agreement antara PT Pindad dan Czechoslovak Group
Menteri Pertahanan RI (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto mengawal langsung penandatanganan kontrak kerja sama antara Kementerian Pertahanan (Kemhan) dengan Excalibur International Perusahaan Alutsista Czechoslovak Group (CSG) di Kemhan Jakarta, Selasa (22/2).
Agenda penandatangan kontrak kerja sama ini mengenai license agreement kendaraan lapis baja (Panser) Pandur II 8X8 FSV yang dilakukan oleh Direktur Utama PT. Pindad Abraham Mose dengan Michal Stranad, CEO sekaligus pemilik dari CSG group.
