Ikut analysis soompier ni, mcm mati jah couple ni
When the show started, i was all for Yeon Jae dying because that is what's believable and it would make the script credible. Midway through up to present, i changed my mind and i was hoping for a miracle because no other Kdrama pairing deserves to be more happy than this two.
Now, i think i have to accept the inevitable fate that Yeonjae living wouldn't happen because while i was watching this episode this scene with the plant and Yeonjae's dialogue along with it tipped me off that she will indeed die in the end.
Yeonjae: I heard the colder the winter is, the more beautiful the chrysanthemum flower will be the following year.
That dialogue is full of metaphors.
The cold winter pertains to the first year of her passing away when Jiwook would be missing her presence and he would be bereft, sad and lonely without her but then as time passes by and he gets over his grief, he will be strengthened by her memories and he will become a better person because of the love that they shared and how her loss has changed him.
I bet that the ending of this show would probably be Jiwook standing in front of this tree while it is in full bloom during winter a year after, there would be snow falling and he will be shown having a poignant bittersweet smile on his face while looking up at it as if he was remembering Yeonjae.
As i said, there are only three things that tell me if a lead is going to die if you're watching a kdrama or a kmovie.
1. Talks about Plants or trees. (Flowers For my Life, My Sassy Girl)
2. A trip to the beach (Autumn in my Heart, Stairway to Heaven)
3. Talks about winter and seeing the first snow (Millionaires First Love)
We already have 2 out of 3 in this show!
I think that would be an awesome way of presenting her death and how their love is so strong that the memories they shared still link them together even beyond death as symbolized by the flourishing growth of the tree, but still, the thought still doesn't stop from depressing the hell out of me.
I will be a mess once this show is over. I just know it.
