Besides Goulart and Ebanks, there are other newcomer models being refer to a supermodel-status like Julia Stegner, Daria Werbowy or Miranda Kerr

One of the best and most beautiful Vogue Italia covers ever to be shot by Steven Meisel...sempena the 5th anniversary of September 11, Vogue Italia decided to do an editorial for its most important September issue of 2006 (tahun lepas) about the current political and security situation of the world especially regarding the US that is, and the paranoia that is still currently happening over there. Vogue Italia decided to use supermodels Iselin Steiro and Hilary Rhoda to depict various scenarios of countering terrorism.

Steven Meisel decided to use Hilary again for the second time to grace the cover of Vogue Italia after her "80s Exercise Workout" cover sebelum nie. The cover and editorials were shot in and around LAX kt Los Angeles and in a police department. Kalo korang nak tau, this editorial ada mengundang sedikit kekecohan dan criticism di kalangan political circles and security circles kt US masa ia di-release sbb it showed the police and security force abusing and being rough on the supermodels and showing them sexually touching and assaulting them in the wrong places of the body. Diorg kata, that it is a wrong depiction of the security force kt US dan diorg question the validity of a high-fashion magazine tiba2 nak campur adukkan fesyen dan soal security sebuah negara. Diorg kata fesyen takde hak nak menyibuk psl politics.

Bagi akula kan, personally there is nothing wrong really with Vogue Italia nak buat editorial psl security matters sbb at least ia menunjukkan yg Vogue nie peka kpd situasi politik dunia dan aku rasa Vogue nak provoke pembacanya supaya berfikir psl paranoia yg masih menyelubungi the world and the US dan bukan sekadar fikir psl fesyen je 24/7. Vogue Italia bukan sekadar a fesyen magazine but it also talks about politics, society, a bit of economics (yes it does but a bit, biasenya fashion-related la), entertainment, important figures, art, photography dan mcm2 lagi. It covers a lot of subjects ranging from a bunch of diverse subjects that are serious and not serious. Plus kan, doesn't fashion encompass everything?? Bukankah fashion nie mempengaruhi kehidupan kita, even pasukan polis pun ada fesyen yg perlu dipatuhi bila nak ke pejabat and so on. So I don't see anything wrong with that actually. Cuma aku kurang berkenan dgn bhgn2 editorial yg ada polis dan security force cam nak check dan sentuh bahagian alat sulit the models. Itu cam tak patutla...It could have been avoided.

Title of the Vogue Italia Sept 2006 issue was "State of Emergency". Enjoy and do comment on the pics kalo ada. On another note, rasa2nya adakah ANTM mampu utk membuat editorial segempak ini dgn shot2 yg amazing dan lakonan yg agak real drpd the supermodels. Sbb biasenya the photoshoots of ANTM suck a-s-s as usual dgn fake facial expressions....wakkakaakkkaka...jhtnya aku kutuk ANTM sedangkan mmgpun diorg tu budget limited dan tak mampu nak saing dgn photoshoot segempak ini...hehe..sorry ANTM
