sebenarnye mmg diorang berhak utk tukar nama pun... sbb Mega Pavilion tu mmg milik Cathay Singapore dan Cathay sendiri pun ada histiry sendiri yg membawakan film2 dari Malaysia dan Singapura dulu2...

diorang nak kembalikan nostalgia lama kut.. kebetulan pawagam Cathay yg ada kat Malaysia ni pun dah tutup... kalau ada pun, tapi identiti Cathay tu dah takde... aku pun teringat lak dulu2 selalu tgk kat pawagam Cathay kat Klang... yg paling best masa tgk Jurassic Park kat situ.... tahun 1993 rasenye...

Ada ura2 mengatakan yg Cathay Cineplex yg kat City Square JB tuh memang nak ditambah 5 screen lagi, pastu nak tukar jadi Cathay Cineleisure gak. Aku dah lama tak pegi sana, so not sure whether nama dia masih Megapavillion atau dah jadi Cathay.

oh ya, yg duk kat JB tuh, korang dah try TGV Tebrau City blum? Dia nyer theater no. 1 pakai 20 meter mega screen, best gilos! Kalau tengok movie letup2, terbang sana sini siap special effect memang best sangat. cuma ticket mahal sikit, RM11.

mmg akan tambah 5 skrin... tapi masa aku pergi JB hari tu, aku try naik level 7 macam tak tau kat mana dorg nak tambah... dan rasenye for sure dah stat upgrade sbb akan buka gak dalam this year tak silap aku... yg level 7 tu ada ofis apa ntah... access ikut escalator ke surau tu...

pernah tgk 2 kali kat TGV Tebrau, tapi tak berkesempatan tgk kat mega screen... masa aku tgk IceAge2 hari tu, sepetutnye Ice Age 2 dapat mega screen, tapi aku dapat hall 9 je, hempeh betul, taktau sbb apa die tukar sbb mmg sah2 time tu Ice Age2 yg paling top(lagipun advert dalam paper tulis Ice Age 2 dapat mega screen) dan mmg dorg provide 1 hall sahaja utk Ice Age 2, so for sure akan dapat hall paling besar... huhu...

aku dah tgk beberapa kali kat Cathay Cineleisure Damansara ni... ok la hall die.. yg uniknye, certain hall die ada namakan dgn term tertentu seperti Nokia, Wringley, DiGi dan so on... senang org nak detect hall mana(kirenye bukan berdasarkan no hall semata2)... yg aku perasan kat Cathay CSq JB sebelum ni, just hall 4 je diberi nama hall DiGi...

kalau time tak ramai org, leh access internet free kat lobi wayang tu sbb ada provide tiga komputer utk access intenet(kirenye sementara nak tunggu masuk wayang leh la bforum kat CARI dulu, hehe )

parking die pun dah buka, RM1 per entry je... sama rate dgn The Curve.. kalau muka tak malu, leh park kat Tesco je sbb free, hehe

setakat ni, hanya wayang je la yg baru dibuka kat Cineleisure Damansara ni... kedai2 lain tak sure bile nak buka... kalau buka baru meriah sikit.. lagipun area situ dah mmg sedia meriah, lagipun The Street dkt The Curve tu mmg ramai org lepak sampai kul 12tgh malam (atau kul 1-3pg utk weekend)... pastu ada McD 24 hrs lagi, Burger King kat Petronas lagi, kedai mamak 24hrs kat Tesco... so mmg heppening sentiasa la wpun lewat malam....kalau siang mmg meriah la dgn kehadiran Tesco, IKEA, Ikano lagi.. atau kalau rajin leh jalan kaki ke 1 Utama yg terletak tak jauh dari situ....

Number of cineplexes to triple in Malacca

By Pairamaporn Buranakol

Malacca's current lone cinema is in Mahkota Parade.

13 Oct - When you take a trip home to Malacca this Deepa-Raya, not only will you get to celebrate the holidays with your families, but you can also catch the latest films in the new cinemas in town!

Two cinema chains are making their presence felt in Malacca. They are Pawagam Iswaria and the MBO Cineplex chain. Pawagam Iswaria is opening its Perdana Fajar Melaka on the 3rd Floor of the Soon Seng Plaza in Jalan Tun Ali on 21 October.

Ms Mala, spokesperson for the Iswaria chain, said the opening is to coincide with the Deepa-Raya celebrations. The main attractions are "Vallavan" and Shah Rukh Khan's "Don". The cinema has two halls, one bigger than the other, with a total of 318 seats.

MBO is also opening its first multiplex in December on the 3rd floor of the Melaka Mall, situated opposite Jusco. The new MBO multiplex will have seven screens, with a total of 1,200 seats. Opening date is tentatively scheduled on 15 December.

Mr Toh Kim Hock, managing director of the MBO chain, said the pre-opening screening is likely to coincide with the release of the Chow Yun Fatt's "The Curse of the Golden Flower". "We plan to fill the vacuum of cinema halls for the folks in Malacca," he said.

Malacca currently has only one multiplex under Golden Screen Cinemas. It opened in February 1994 at Mahkota Parade with four screens totalling 830 seats. The addition of the two-screen Pawagam Iswaria Perdana Fajar Melaka this Deepavali, and MBO's 7-screen multiplex in mid-December, would more than triple Malacca's screen capacity.

With most towns and cities in the country doubling their cinema capacity over the last few years, Malacca and Kuantan are among the last remaining major towns for this expansion. Only recently Johor Baru saw its cineplex number doubled (from the original 5-screen Cathay City Square and 5-screen GSC Pelangi Leisuremall) with the addition of TGV's 10-screen multiplex in Tebrau City, while the new 5-screen TGV Seremban 2 doubled the capacity offered by GSC's 4-screen Terminal One multiplex and the single-screen Perdana in town.

Kota Kinabalu, Penang and even the Klang Valley have doubled their respective screen capacities with new cinemas that opened over the last two to three years.

New AEON Shopping Centre in Klang to include TGV Cinemas

By Pairamaporn Buranakol

6 Oct - With the one million sq ft Aeon Bukit Tinggi Shopping Centre all set up to brighten up the southern part of Klang, Klang looks all decked out to be an exciting place to visit by the end of next year.

At their groundbreaking ceremony held late last month, the mall owners, WCT Land Berhad said the plan was for the mall to be the largest Aeon shopping centre in Malaysia, and quite possibly the third-largest in Asia.

Public Relations Manager for Aeon Co. Malaysia, Shirly Chan, added that TGV Cinemas would also be located in the building on a dedicated entertainment floor that would probably include a restaurant as well. Like their other mall locations, dedicated exits are available for patrons leaving the building after late night movies which end long after the mall's operating hours.

When asked about the ongoing renovations at the Kepong and Cheras Selatan TGV cinemas, she said they plan to open the former before Chinese New Year 2007 and the latter in mid 2007.

"The cinemas are one of the more prominent attractions, like our Greenbox Karaoke in Cheras Selatan, our anchor tenant (Jusco) and Food Street for the total concept of a modern, stylish Shopping Centre," she said.
