MatsuJun unharmed in minor car accident
Arashi member Jun Matsumoto (26) was involved in a minor car accident on Monday. Fortunately, neither he nor the driver of the other car was hurt.
At about 11:15pm on Monday, Matsumoto was driving in Tokyo's Meguro ward when he rear-ended the car of a female Tokyo resident. Police say that both drivers were trying to stop at a red light, but the street had a downward slope and the road was slippery due to snow.
Although neither party was injured, the front bumper of Matsumoto's car and the rear bumper of the woman's car were damaged.

Next Step of Charming Sakurai Sho!
Arashi member Sakurai Sho is playing the main character who is a hot-blooded and kind young administrative scrivener in the drama "Tokujo Kabachi/特上カバチ!!". "The guy (I played) is a fresh greenhorn. It reminds me of struggling recklessly." commented Sakurai.
Even last year was Arashi 10th anniversary, the character named "Tamura Kazuhiro" made him get back to basics.
The drama is based on a popular manga, comically depicting the growth of Tamura who is full of sense of justice. And Sakurai aims to perform "a town lawyer who you want to be around."
Dramas, songs, TV programs...we probably can see more progress on Arashi members this year.
However, what is "特上(lit. premium)" to Sakurai in his life? "I think it is being a member of Arashi and having fun with my work. Other four members are very cool guys as well." answered Sakurai.
He was also asked what he would do if he were not an artist, he replied: "I want to work overseas, and, maybe as a journalist."
He revealed he wanted to play as "a detective" in the future. And who he wanted to meet with? "The speech writer of Obama. I want to meet him. I heard that he is the same age with me." as a famous newscaster, he really has a wide field of vision.
Sakurai also said if he could have one month vacation, he would like to go abroad because he likes traveling: "I'd like to travel around the Europe by train."
By the way, having dinner at night is the time with most spirit for him!
And as to his favorite object used with longest time is "a pen box bought at the second grade of middle school and I had been using it until two years ago." That is quite amazing!
Finally he had to buy a new one to replace, but "Currently maybe it's the clock I bought when I graduated from the university." said Sakurai.

TOKIO Five Members Become Deliverymen?!
Five members of TOKIO are going to be the image character of Yamato Transport (a Transport Company of Japan) and their new CMs have been on air from February 1st.
Members will play the roles of sales drivers of delivery service, with Nagase Tomoya loading the goods to the truck, Kokubun Taichi pushing the truck with a smile, and Joushima Shigeru driving the electric bicycle with cart. In the CM you can find the unusual side of members.

New Arashi Single
Popular idol group Arashi have unveiled details of their upcoming single Troublemaker, which is scheduled for release on March 3rd.
The title track will be used as the theme song for the TBS comedy drama "Tokujo Kabachi!!" which is currently airing in Japan and features Arashi member Sakurai Sho in its cast. The b-side Yurase, ima wo will be used as theme song for Nippon TV's "Vancouver 2010" which will broadcast footage from the "2010 Winter Olympics" held in Canada and as the winter theme for "Zoom in!! SUPER" and "Zoom in!! Saturday".
The regular edition of the single will also feature the track Mou ippo and instrumental counterparts for the aforementioned songs. The limited edition will include the music video for Troublemaker.

Inocchi becomes NHK morning show newscaster
Inohara Yoshihiko (33) of V6 will be taking on the job of newscaster on NHK morning news program Asaichi (airing weekdays at 8:15 am). On February 4, Inohara held a press conference at NHK headquarters in Tokyo's Shibuya district, along with announcer Udou Yumiko (40) and commentator Yanazawa Hideo (56). This marked the first time in the 45 years since NHK began airing morning news programs in 1966 that a non-NHK staff member led such a conference.
Inohara, who has told his fellow newscasters to call him by his nickname, Inocchi, commented, "Since it's a morning show, I want to make it high-energy. There is some pressure, but more than anything, I'm looking forward to doing the show. I hope to get advice from Arashi's Sakurai-kun [who has newscasting experience]."
"I'll be waking up the other members early in the morning," he added, laughing.

SMAP singer Masahiro Nakai to be TBS' main commentator for Winter Olympics
SMAP member Masahiro Nakai, 37, will serve as the main commentator on TBS during coverage of the upcoming Vancouver Olympics, the network announced this week. Nakai has held the position since the 2004 Athens Olympics, and the singer laughed that he had “an inkling of a suspicion” that he would be chosen this time around as well.

Kimura Takuya Wins for Most Contribution to Japanese Dramas
Yesterday was the 57th anniversary of television broadcast in Japan. To celebrate the occasion, Japanese website Oricon Style created a poll to see which celebrities made the most contributions to television. SMAP's Kimura Takuya won the most votes in the actor category. In fact, ever since 1993's Asunaro Hakusho, Kimutaku has had a string of hit dramas, including memorable roles in Long Vacation and Beautiful Life. He is very deserving of the award. In the singer's category, 'Showa's Songstress' Misora Hibari was voted first. In the comedian category, Downtown, the comedic duo comprised of Matsumoto Hitoshi and Hamada Masatoshi placed first. With the popular boy band Arashi getting another prime time show this spring, NTV has decided to end the group's late night show "Arashi no Shukudai-kun." The network announced that the final episode will air on March 22.
"Arashi no Shukudai-kun" has been on the air since October 2006, and has received high ratings despite its time slot.

This week's issue of FRIDAY magazine claims that Arashi's Masaki Aiba (27) and actress Asami Mizukawa (26) are dating. In fact, their relationship is said to have started about three years ago.
Late last month, Mizukawa was seen visiting Aiba's apartment building, with a mask covering part of her face. She was also seen visiting the same apartment in October and November of last year.

V6 Okada Junichi's New CM shot by a Compact Camera only?!
Sony digital camera "Cyber-shot" new CM starring V6 member Okada Junichi has been released!
The most surprising part was that the whole CM was shot only by one compact digital camera.
In order to prove the quality of the "Cyber-shot" with full high vision video function, the project "Made With Cyber-shot" was made and only one compact digital camera (cyber-shot) was used to shoot the CM for the first time in the world.
