tahun 1959, di Illionois US, arkitek frank lloyd wright dah pun melakar bangunan tersebut.
cuma masalah kekurangan pakar dan teknologi pembinaan , ianya menjadi visi
untuk tamadun manusia sekarang merealisasikannya.

The Mile High Illinois, Illinois Sky-City, or simply The Illinois was a proposed mile-high (1,609 metres/5,280 feet) skyscraper, envisioned by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1956. The design, intended to be built in Chicago, would have included 528 stories, with a gross area of 18.46 million square feet (1.71 million square meters; 171 ha). Had it been built, it would have been the tallest building in the world.
This is arguably the most famous of the semi-serious visionary buildings meant to be an alternative to the increasing urban sprawl occurring in most cities. None of these have, before now, been viewed as financially feasible. The Burj Dubai in Dubai, however, is expected to rise to more than 50% the height of the Illinois. |

kebanyakan tower yg ditunjukkan ni cuma illustrasi artis shj.....banyak je proposal utk buat tower tinggi2 pastu unbuilt...atau pon x siap....contoh yg tak siap ialah plaza rakyat yg kat sebelah puduraya tuh....bangunan tu sepatutnya antara 100 tallest building in asia.... |

lagik satu IBC kat Seoul, tak ingat braper tingginye, satu lagik kat China, tak sure Shanghai or Beijing, nak built another tower to surpass the Burj Dubai, n BTW, towers yg kat middle east tu sume mmg jenis gergasi superb punya, hahhah, tp kalo korang perasan, most of them tak bawak identity tempatan, banyak yg international style/post modernism, bosan saks, tapi u guys should check out the Russia Tower, macam re-incarnation of Ryugyong Hotel, tapi more slender n taller, besar siot bangunan tuh, fully natural ventilation tuh, fuhhhh kalau stay kat floor 100 cemane eh angin tuh, mesti cam cyclone, muhahahha! nway a good start for the next generation of super towers, mungkin 100 years to come, semua bangunan dah lepas 2 or 3 kilometers in height, fuhhhhh dahsyattttttt |

Incheon City authorized the Portman consortium to build 151-story twin towers in Songdo International City in the Incheon Free Economic Zone. As of yet known as Incheon Tower, the twin towers will be connected by three sky bridges and house a hotel, a convention center, offices and a shopping mall. The multi-phased $11 billion project is part of Korea抯 efforts to transform 1,500 acres of reclaimed land into an unrivaled business hub for Northeast Asia. The construction consortium led by Portman Holdings plans to complete the tower by August 2010. With inclusion of the 151-story twin tower in the FEZ, Incheon will be transformed into a world-class business city on par with Shanghai and Dubai. The twin towers will become the landmark that symbolizes Korea's future growth potential and opportunities.
Incheon Tower is set to be the world抯 second tallest building behind the 160-story Burj Dubai that is under construction in the Gulf state. |
