Song Seung-hun to Be on Fuji TV


Japan抯 FujiTV is in the process of producing a special program on actor Song Seung-hun, one of the leading Korean Wave stars who will be discharged from military service on Nov. 15.

Fuji TV Producing Special on Korean Wave Star



Fuji TV is in the process of producing a documentary on Korean Wave star Song Seung-hun. The star's management said the Japanese broadcaster Japan decided to produce a two-hour-long documentary program with the working title, "Come on in. We welcome you, Song Seung-hun."

The buzz ahead of the star抯 discharge from military service on Nov. 15 is reaching fever pitch, but it is still unique for an entire Japanese program to be devoted a Korean star. The program will cover the period from when the star was shipped off to boot camp and throughout his time in the military to the Asia Fans Meeting 2006 following his release. The broadcaster is in the planning stages of the film now, and will air it on Dec. 21. It began after a request by Fuji, which together with the creation of a website for his Japanese fans reflects the star抯 rising celebrity there.

Fuji TV ads will show the actor's imminent release and the fan meeting on outdoor screens in Tokyo. The program will be broadcast on the entertainment industry shows "Tokudane!" and "Mejamashi TV." "I'm happy that the fans still love and take care of me," the actor says. "They were the reason that I could faithfully complete my time in the service."
