radio interview between GHS and tablo...translation credit to susamerica of soompi
................................
Translation of GHS on Tablo Radio Program: (I am translating in order of what was talked about)
T. introduced GHS as someone who had dreams of becoming a singer. Then to enhance singing she studied acting. Because her personality is about always doing her best, she eventually was casted as an actress.
T. also stated that GHS in one of his closest friends for many years. But he has not contacted her for 3 or 4 months because T. felt that she is just too busy. T says GHS complained that he did not contact her. She was filming BOF, which became a big success.
T asked about her feelings after BOF ended. GHS expressed that she felt sad, bored and somewhat empty after BOF ended. She even cried sometimes. T said maybe because she had been surrounded for so long by handsome guys? She said maybe a little but mostly she really missed the staff and the team of BOF whom she befriended.
T asked about her book Tango. T has seen her illustrations and her preparatory work before when he would visit her at her work place or office. But he still wondered how she did it whiile filming BOF when she was working pretty much all day at BOF. GHS talked about how she is not good at taking breaks in between. If she is in work mode, she works with full concentration. She sometimes used her sleep time to write. T. says that he has seen GHS work. She is in constant motion that he cannot keep track of what she is doing. She would be writing one minute, then playing piano, then cooking, drawing, etc. He finds her to be the hardest working person that he knows.
GHS talks about TANGO as a story of a woman nearing her 30's and who experiences two loves and maturing in the process. (I personally loved her book and the illustrations.) She says the events in the story did not happen to her but she has put lots of herself in the main character. She has some regrets about the final product of TANGO, and hopes to do better next time. In the meantime, she is in general happpy with her product and the support that she is receiving on the book. T promises to read her book 100 times. GHS says she herself is nearing 30's as she is now 26. (Actually GHS is still only 24 yo if counted American way.)
T mentions that GHS is also coming out with a "New Age" album. He wanted to know if there is anything she does not know how to do. GHS says she does not cook well. T objects to that. He has eaten her cooking and that she makes delicious food, but she makes too much. She cooks for 20 people when there are maybe 3 or 4 eating and that she complains if people do not eat most of her cooking.
T asks, out of all that she does, is there any one activity that makes her truly happy and makes her feel it is "her". Everything she does she loves and each one fulfills and fills up something inside her. There may be negative reaction to her doing alot, but (I loved Tablo for this!) T stopped her and said that it is useless to listen to such negative people because they will always be negative. T. says that GHS' activities may give lots of encouragement to young people out there who may have so much dreams but never go for them due to fears and negative thinking and fears of what other people may think about them and their work, GHS agreed with T and says that is how she tries to think.
T asks GHS if she would like to listen to a song at this time. Gigglilng, GHS says she loves a certain group called Epik High and T plays "map the Seoul" by Epik High. T says that he somehow likes that group too. (kekeke)
T brought out 3 public assumptions/impressions about GHS and each is discussed. (1)GHS is 4-D (sahchawon) (2) She is a singer (3) GHS is "mother's friend's daughter" (umchinddaal).
re. 4-D: GHS does not seem to like being associated with 4-D. She agrees with T that although people consider her "pure and innocent" through dramas, she actually is NOT. Both agree that GHS is free and easy and unaffected. (She marches to her own drum, does what she wants and expresses what she wants.) T also consideres her a "tough" person and that is why he gets along well with GHS. T says he does not have many female friends but GHS is an exception. T and GHS recollects their participation in YSMM show. GHS says she used to eat bugs when she was 6 and no longer does that and maybe people consider her 4-D because of the way she works and the way she may interact socially sometimes. She can be farfetched and different. T says she may be considered 4-D because she used to stab him with fork. Many years ago, they happen to travel to NY together and this was when they were not that close yet. Although they were in NN5 together, they hardly were in same scenes and hardly had anything to talk about. They were eating and GHS stabbed him with fork and it scared him a bit also. He characterized her action as "loving punches". GHS was happy with that characterization by T. She admits that she tends to be very playful but that her increasing age prevents her from doing too much now. T made GHS laugh by saying he misses it.
re. singing: GHS does not say she is good at singing but that she loves singing and music. She still has hopes that maybe she can find a way to sing professionally. She thinks she might have done better in a band. Her current agency does not really do bands. T mentions that he cannot imagine GHS in a group like 2NE1(?) and GHS agrees with that.
re. "mother's friend's daughter" or "envious daughter"--She started to hear this term when she made her directorial debut of a short movie called "Cheerful caretaker". People assume that she does not sleep. She says she sleeps now. This is a movie about euthanasia and that there is no intent to criticize the church. The movie seems to occur in a church setting. She says the topic maybe heavy but she composed its music to be more light and upbeat. T says GHS gave her a copy of the CD and that he and she talked about the music before the completion of the movie. GHS could not remember it and T expressed his frustration that she could not remember their discussion. (4-D?) They laugh. People are praising her as being perfect and she is appreciative but feel lots of pressure to do well. She says she knows she is not perfect but she can put that pressure on herself, esp. with such terms going round about her.
T. asked if she has other challenges that she wants to try. GHS wants to now try to produce and direct longer movie or drama as she has done a short movie. She has actually studied directing and wants to challenge herself in that area more. Here T comments that GHS feels like his older sister even though she is younger. GHS then mentions that she has never called him "oppa". T says as they got closer, GHS calls him " Tablo" or "hey" or yah!" and then eventually she just says "you" or not even call him anything. They both laugh. GHS has never used the respectful tone with T as they do in Korea to older person. (I think GHS was giggling alot in Tablo's radio show because they both were using respectful tones to each other--something that they are not used to doing in private.)
Then they listened to "Paradise" by T-Max. (It appears GHS is not familiar with OST of BOF.) Tablo tells her to watch her own drama and that he also has not seen the entire BOF because it feels strange to see his friends play roles on TV---he was talking about not only GHS but also Kim Hyun Joong. (I may not have understood it clearly but T thinks Jandi is more aggressive and violent than the real GHS.)
Lastly he asked her what she would be doing in 10 or 20 years. GHS was stumped. (T is so good to her or to his guests in general because he made her feel better by saying he would not be able to easily answer that question himself.) Then GHS said that she wants to be married. Actually she wants to be married very soon. But she does not think it possible. T. asks if it is because she does not have anyone right now. She says not only that but she does not think a husband would be very happy with her if she marries now as she has too many things on her plate. T asked her what kind of man is she looking for. He saw her on an interview and his take was that she welcomes any man and that she does not care if he has nothing. (I do not thing that is what GHS said in that S-Diary interview) Anyway, GHS says that she wants someone who has very good manners (I remember she said that about F4) and mostly he has to be someone she is "just crazy about without knowing why". Tablo says that he is positive GHS will find someone like that. He believes that right person will come when the time is right, when she may have less to do. Right now she has just too many dreams that she wants to fullfil. Until that time, Tablo wishes that she is not so lonely. He wishes her safe journey home and ends by playing GHS' "Happy Birthday" song from NN5 days. |
