Aiseh... rasanya tak ada romen2 cerita ni  ... ala2 koboi... koboi Korea. Tak boleh nak imagine sangat macamana they all nak buat remake ni tapi rasanya jenis yang agak2 lawak and funny... Korean-style.  Director dia bagus and very talented, kalau pernah tengok A Tale of Two Sisters (horror-thriller) dan A Bittersweet Life, boleh agak dia punya creativity. Belum start apa2... critics dah letak rating tinggi.

Top Stars Roped Into Korean Western

It may not get any more star-studded than this.
The nation's top actors _ Song Kang-ho, Lee Byung-hun and Jung Woo-sung _ have teamed up for a movie.
The film's production companies, Barunson and Grimm Pictures, first cast Song for the film "The Good, the Bad and the Weird" (working title), which will be directed by Kim Jee-woon. The two other actors, Lee and Jung, recently joined the project.
With an estimated production budget of more than 10 billion won, the film is a Korean version of a Western. It revolves around three men who go on an adventure to Manchuria, China, in the 1930s.
As Kim is well known for his directorial talent, the three actors are expected to show their charms. Kim directed hit films such as the 2000 comedy "The Foul King," the 2003 horror film "A Tale of Two Sisters" and the 2005 noire flick "A Bittersweet Life."
One of the leading Korean wave stars in Asia, Lee played a college student in last year's "Once in a Summer." In the new film, he plays a hired bounty hunter who will do anything to earn money. But at the same time he is a good guy.
Jung, who played a warrior in the recent blockbuster "The Restless," will take on the role of an assassin, a bad guy.
Song, who played the desperate father who tried to save his daughter from a monster in the nation's most viewed film, "The Host," last year, plays a troublemaker, a weird guy in the new film.
Director Kim worked with Lee in "A Bittersweet Life" and with Song in "The Foul King." It is the first time Jung has worked with the director.
"The Good, the Bad and the Weird" will begin shooting in April and will be released early next year.

The movie about a restless student's life-changing romance, told in flashbacks, is also as swooningly scenic and impeccably filmed as it can get.
Still, it flopped at the South Korean box office last year.
But don't cry for Lee yet.
The star has been busy promoting the film in Japan, where it opened in theatres on Jan 27. It is expected to be a hit like his compatriot Bae Yong Joon's April Snow, a made-for-housewives adultery drama which grossed an impressive US$23mil (RM80.5mil) there.
Like Bae, Lee has a big following in Japan and South-East Asia.
The latter has starred in popular TV dramas like Beautiful Days (2001) and All In (2003), as well as movies including the 2000 hit thriller, Joint Security Area.
Better yet, he has been tipped by Hollywood trade magazine, Variety, as the top-ranked Korean actor "best placed to break through internationally".
Take that, Bae Yong Joon, Jang Dong Gun and Rain.
In an e-mail interview recently, Lee, 36, confirms that he has a Hollywood agent, Jenny Rollings.

Actor Ryu Appointed Goodwill Envoy for Culture
The Korea Tourism Organization has appointed actor Ryu Si-won as a goodwill ambassador to promote the country's culture and tourism and further spread the Korean Wave this year.
Ryu and his fans from eight countries were all appointed goodwill ambassadors at a ceremony with Culture Minister Kim Myung-gon and Korea Tourism Organization President Kim Jong-min attending.

Actor Ryu has gained popularity throughout Asia, especially in China and Japan, thanks to his roles in several hit dramas and several hit albums. He's also a descendant of the 16th-century Korean Prime Minister Ryu Seong-ryong.

The movie "Good Guy, Bad Guy, Strange Guy" is a new movie by Director Kim Ji Hoon who has Lee Byung Hun has worked with in "Bitter Sweet Life". The other casts are Song Gang Ho and Jung Woo Sung.
The story is set in the 20's and 30's of Manchuria, incorporating Western movie scenes and is expected to have more gun fights scenes than "Bitter Sweet Life". Lee Byung Hun will soon start to rehearse the scripts with Song Gang Ho and Jung Woo Sung in preparation to start the shooting. |
