Okie uols ...
basically .. iols akan cover 4 islands i.e. Airpot island (kena count gak sebab pulau maaaaa walau pun ada link ke Hulhumale ), Pulau Humhumale, Pulau Male dan Pulau Maafushi....
Iols rasa itinerary tak complicated sesangat kow ..sebab setiap pulau kecik jer .... tak payah nak hire cabs or supir... baca kat soc med, leh je jalan cover the whole Male within 2-3 hours ...
Public transportation lak .. leh jer pakai Public Ferry yang cost ny in between 2USD - 5USDd kalo nak transfer from 1 island to another island ... kalo ada wet lebih, leh pakai speedboat (cost USD50....)
Iols prefer naik ferry sebab (1) murah ... (2) leh view Indian Ocean masa hopping from 1 island to another island ... ambik gambar etc....
yang kena pikiq ni .. activity time kat sana ... snorkeling ... scuba diving.. parasailing ... canoeing etc .... yang ni bergantung kepada pakej dan budget memasing arr....

Hi suma .... iols dah balik Malaysia .... baru sampai semalam. Kapal terbang landing kol 410am waktu Malaysia selepas flying for about 4 hrs 10 mins.
What can I say about my trip to Maldives from 30th Oct 18 - 5th Nov 18 is that, the trip was super amazing and full of fun. My days there were full with activities and managed to find a way to cut the travelling cost as every body knows that travelling to Maldives is very costly. Everything is quite expensive and life expenses itself for local Maldivians are pretty high. But surprisingly, I can see local Maldivians are able to cope with it ... showing that Maldivians income are higher than what we earn in Malaysia.
Here are my itinerary + cost ... hopefully will help for those who wish to travel to Maldives at cheap cost:
30th Oct:
~ Supposedly departed from KLIA2 @ 650pm but the flight was delayed and only took off at 730pm. We landed at Velana International Airport at 850pm. It was dark already. So, unable to view Maldives from the above. Only can see the light ...and the shadow of the island ...
~ I took a bus to bring me to Hulhumale and cost me MVR20. The trip took me about 20 minutes. I stayed at Koamas Lodge at Hulhumale and cost me RM170 per night. Please take note - you will need to pay the Green Tax to the hotel USD3 per night and per head and must be paid upon check in.
31st Oct:
~ Still staying at Hulhumale but on 31st Oct, my activity was to explore Male. How to get yourself to Male from Maldives? The cheapest way is by using public ferry. The ferry fare is MVR5.5 and the trip will take for approx 20 minutes. The hotel is located facing the public beach while the ferry terminal is located at the other side of the atoll. But no worry, all atoll in Maldives are pretty small and evey where is walking distance. So I just using my foot to get myself from Hotel to the jetty terminal and only took me approx 10 miutes. If you are so lazy to walk, then you can use bus and the the bus fare is standard at MVR3 regarless where you stop (on Hulhumale only).
~ So on Male, I just walking and strolling around and was using printed maps to guide me. No worry if you get lost as Male is a small capital town. You just need to focus on main road as point of reference. All the roads on Male are easily to be identified and if you are not sure, just ask the local and they are more than happy to assist and help you. Maldivian peoples are very helpful and kind and most of them can speak and understand English.
1st Nov:
~ My journey to Maafushi started. I checked out early from my hotel at Hulhumale as I need to catch the ferry departed from Villingi Terminal on Male at 1030am.
~ Hulhumale to Male by ferry (20 minutes - MVR5.5).
~ Once landed on Male, I need to go the Villingi Terminal on the other side of Male atoll. I choosed to walk and it took me about 25 minutes to reach the terminal. If you are so lazy to walk plus got a lot of luggage, then you may use cabs and they will charge you approx MVR30-40.
~ I was using govt ferry and it cost me MVR53. The ferry was full with passengers and was loaded with lots of stuff (the put these stuff at the middle of the ferry)
~ The trip to Maafushi took about 90 minutes and reached Maafushi at 1200pm.
~ The view along the journey was spectatuclar. You can see the Indian Ocean right after your eyes and see all the resort island from the distance. However, since we are travelling right before afternoon, so the weather was pretty hot ... but the sea breeze will cooling you.
~ Maafushi is considered as big atolls but still pretty small and everywhere is reachable by foot. So, on my first day on Maafushi, my activities were mostly exploring the villages, strolling and walking along the beach, mingle with local etc. There are 2 big mosques on Maafushi and surau is evey where.
~ Having meal at one restaurant and tried maldivian food (big portion of rice but the fried tuna portion was damn very small and served with tuna soup. Only got 4-5 tuna chuncks inside with some onion and garlic) + a bottle of coke and the meal cost me about MVR90.
~ On Maafushi, I stayed at Royal Pearl Inn which cost me about RM150 per night + additional USD3 per head and per night for green tax. must be paid upon check in.
2nd Nov:
~ Since 2nd Nov was Friday, so continued my activities walking around. Friday is considered as weekend in Maldives and all the shops will close at 11am and reopen at 2pm.
~ Having dinner at one restaurant located just infront of the jetty. Ordered chicken rice and a bottle of coke. The serving was complemented with papadom and chilli paste and the meal cost me MVR110.
3rd Nov:
~ My real activities started. I opted a pakej which include snorkelling activities at 2 sites i.e. at 1 reef close to one resort and at turtle reef, watching the dolphin and lunch on the sand bank. This pakej cost me USD35. My mistake as if I go to the agency directly to register myself for this pakej, they will charge me in between 20-25USD. In this case, I ask the hotel to find the pakej for me. There are lots of agency providing various of tour pakej available on the Maafushi.~ The pakej that I choosed was a half day activities. There was a malay couple with thier cute little boy joining the trip - so, finally I managed to find a friend to company me thru out the day.
~ The snorkelling activities were awesome. The sea was very clear ... surprisingly no current at all and the sea around was very calm and the fishes were very friendly.
~ Watching dolphin also very fun. But those that come with speedboat were very annoying. Once they see the dolpin come to the surface, they will immediately approach the dolphin causing the dolphin to dive in and dissapear.
~ Sandbank activities were fun as well. The view from the sand bank was spectacular and amazing but it was scroching hot on it. So, do not forget to bring the sun block (recommended with SPF 100++ - higher is better) and cap to cover your head / or you may use towel to wrap you body to protect your body from ocean and islan heat.
~ As for lunch, they served us with chicken salad rice, fruit platters, juice and mineral water.
4th Nov:
~ Going back to Hulhumale via Male by ferry. This time around, I was using private ferry and cost me USD2 @ MVR30. Very comfortable and convenient and very cossy as well. You can go the to ferry roof top to enjoy the view all the way back to Male. The view and scenery from the ferry roof top was extremely awesome... amazing and breathaking.
~ Btw, the ferry departed from Maafushi at 730am and the journey took about 90 minutes.
~ Reached Male at 9am .... since I have no other activities any more, so spent almost half day exploring Male. Having meal at SeaHouse Cafe (on top of the ferry terminal) and the view was facing the sea and the airport island (just opposite). So the view was awesome. I ate fish and chips and a bottle of coke and cost me MVR120.
~ Once done with my meal, heading back to Hulhumale and again I stayed at Koamas Lodge.
5th Nov:
~ After break fast, walking and strolling around Hulhumale main road - sightseeing and window shopping. Checked out at 12pm. Befroe heading to airport, I took one last lunch oh one restaurant facing the public beach. This time around, I ordered tuna steak (served with coleslow and rice), a cup of iced milk and a bottle of mineral water and the measl cost me about MVR110.
~ Once done, heading to airport by bus (spent anoter MVR20).
~ At airport, everything is super duper expensive. All were sold in USD. At burger king, the cheapest combo set was USD11. At souvenier shop, the cheapest frifge magnet was USD5 (even the simple one).
~ As for AA, the flight depature is at 850PM. So, definitely you have lots of time to be spent at the airport.
That is it guys ... my itinerary during my trip to Maldives .
Will share the photos during my Maldives trip shortly.
