Premier League - Arsenal go third as late goal rush sinks Norwich
Premier League, Emirates Stadium - Arsenal 3 (Arteta 85, Giroud 88, Podolski 90+2) Norwich 1 (Turner 57)

Arsenal boosted their hopes of a top-four finish by scoring three times in the closing six minutes to floor Norwich 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium - but they needed the help of a contentious decision by a linesman to help them.
Norwich moved ahead with their first effort on goal of the match on 57 minutes as Michael Turner rose to nod into the net from Robert Snograss's free-kick.
It looked like being an unlikely winner for Chris Hughton's side until a linesman pointed to the spot for the award of a foul on 85 minutes as Kei Kamara tangled with Olivier Giroud five yards or so from the home goal.
Mikel Arteta kept his composure to sweep the ball past Mark Bunn, who had been booked seconds earlier for protesting vehemently. He managed to get a hand to the ball as he dived to his left but could not keep out the pace of shot.
Norwich suddenly looked dazed and fell behind on 87 minutes when some cute play by Arsenal saw substitute Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain set up Giroud to stab the ball home from close range as Sebastian Bassong was left helpless with Bunn a spectator.
The home players celebrated with some relish as the air of depression visibly lifted from the home fans despite the drizzle.
With six minutes added onto the match, home substitutes Theo Walcott and Lucas Podolski ensured their side a nerve-free final few minutes when Podolski drilled the ball beyond Bunn for the match-clinching third goal.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Olivier Giroud - Not spectacular, but kept plugging away up front for the home side. And got his rewards late on.

Everton defended brilliantly to hold Arsenal to a goalless draw in their Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on a night when huge questions were raised about the ongoing fitness problems of Jack Wilshere.
Both sides created chances in an even first half, but Arsenal were all over David Moyes’s team in the second period and were only denied by some fantastic defending by the likes of Phil Jagielka and Seamus Coleman.
The result means Arsenal stay third, two points ahead of Chelsea who have two games in hand, while Everton – who could have gone fourth with a win – stay sixth.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Phil Jagielka (Everton): The term ‘rock’ is bandied about too much in football, but ‘Jags’ was brilliant as he led a rearguard action that largely protected Tim Howard.

Premier League - Van Persie scores on return to Arsenal as Manchester United earn draw

Robin van Persie scored on his return to the Emirates Stadium as Premier League champions Manchester United drew 1-1 against Arsenal.
The Dutchman earned and converted a 44th minute penalty to cancel out Theo Walcott's second minute opener.
United were seeking the first of four wins that would set a Premier League points record but the result is more damaging to the Gunners who drop to fourth, a point behind Chelsea and two ahead of Tottenham Hotspur who both have a game in hand.
Arsenal kept with tradition and formed a guard of honour for the new champions but showed United little respect in the opening quarter, snapping into every challenge, and they were full value for their early lead.
It came after van Persie gave the ball away on the halfway line. An interchange of passes followed before Tomas Rosicky sent Walcott behind Patrice Evra and the England forward smuggled his shot under David De Gea from the angle.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal) - Won every tackle and made more interceptions than any other player. Fully justified his place ahead of club captain Thomas Vermaelen.

Wigan became the first FA Cup winners to be relegated from the top flight in the same season after a 4-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium sent them down.
Shaun Maloney's free-kick sent Wigan into half-time on terms after Lukas Podolski had given Arsenal the lead.
But hopes of a dramatic escape were washed away by a flood of catastrophic defensive lapses as Arsenal struck three times in eight minutes through Theo Walcott, Podolski and Aaron Ramsey.
Wigan lurched painfully from triumph to despair just three days after winning the FA Cup for the first time in their history with a 1-0 win over Manchester City at Wembley.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Theo Walcott (Arsenal): Not the most consistent, but Wigan's obligation to attack provided him with space to attack, particularly in the second half when he took a more central role.
