kalau nak yg power sonsumption rendah amik la yang LED... 15-18 watt utk yg bawah 20inci.. 24inci lak dalam 25watt jer...
kalau yg tak guna teknologi LED, power consumption utk bawah 20inci selalunya 25-30 watt... 24 inci lak +- 40 watt...
Phillips LED 24 inci tak silap aku cuma 19watt !! |

tahun depan samsung akan launch LCD cuma bawah 10 watt... tak payah pakai plug.. cuma cucuk kat USB port jer...
tapi setakat ni cuma ada model 18.5inci ke bawah je la...
harga pun paham2 ler... nak jimat karan kena koyak poket dulu!!![](static/image/smiley/default/lol.gif) |

Samsung has already had some impressive technology on display at the SID 2010 conference. Yesterday we saw the unveiling of a 46″ transparent LCD TV, but today’s device demonstration is even more impressive.
The screen you see above is an 18.5″ Samsung monitor sitting next to a [color=blue ! important][color=blue ! important]PC. It’s a pretty typical setup, but this monitor has one major difference over what we are used to — it is powered over USB 2.0 and requires no separate mains connection.
Samsung were able to achieve USB-only power by cutting the display’s power draw to just 6.3 watts. The panel itself is TN-mode and uses LED edge backlighting. It is capable of displaying a 1366 x 768 resolution, 250cd/m2 brightness, and has a 1000:1 contrast ratio.
The one downside to the display is its lifetime. Typical LCD panels have a usable life of around 50,000 hours, but this Samsung model only achieves a still respectable 30,000 hours.

Matthew’s Opinion
Removing the need for a mains connector is desirable for Samsung as it cuts down on manufacturing cost, packaging size, weight, and shipping costs. For the user it is desirable as there’s one less cable dangling at the back of your desk, and one less power point to find. You will also save some money on your electricity bill.
This also makes the screen much more portable, although an 18.5″ display is less than ideal as a portable size. But if you do need to carry a large screen around with you, and especially if that includes international travel, then this is likely going to appeal.
We need to see the screen in action to tell whether the drastic cut in power has had any effect on image quality and its ability to handle motion. The fact Samsung has achieved just 6.3 watts power usage is good news for the future if it can utilize the same power cuts on its standard range of monitors. |
