Buenos Aires police have said they have searched Liam Payne's hotel room and found alcohol as well as medicines like clonazepam.
Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine used to control epilepsy, involuntary muscle spasms or panic disorders.
Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine drug used for the acute treatment of panic disorder, epilepsy, and nonconvulsive status epilepticus. The drug also has many off-label indications, including restless leg syndrome, acute mania, insomnia, and tardive dyskinesia.
They described "total disorder" in the room with various things broken and medications scattered around.
Police also said they took fingerprints and other evidence from Payne's room to be analysed.
Whiskey, a lighter and a mobile phone were found in the same place as Payne's body.
They earlier said they had been called to reports of an "aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol".
