I guess that is wrong with humans today - they follow a religion (based on their stories) and expect to be delivered to some place. They don't find the "Kingdom of God" within themselves and therefore do not find God but an interpretation of what they believe as God and fight like dogs for it.

In Hinduism, they have something called Sat-guna (True Nature) and Nir-guna (False Nature). Indirectly, what the Holy man is saying is that Humans are following Nir-guna (False Nature) and fighting among themselves for something which is false.
