Two months after his controversial interview with Belve , Michele Morrone is upping the ante. In a new interview with Libero, the Netflix movie 365 Days actor openly declares: "Without a shadow of a doubt, I'm right-wing." He doesn't backtrack on his criticisms of the "circle" of Italian cinema, which he deems hypocritical, elitist, and ideologically biased. "If you don't think with your heart on the left, then you're a fascist. You've pissed everyone off," he states, reiterating his rejection of the national film scene.
The message from the Premier
Morrone also revealed he received a personal message from Giorgia Meloni: "She thanked me with beautiful words. I was very happy. We live in a democratic country, and freedom of thought is important." The actor said he was convinced of the Prime Minister's leadership: "She loves her country and follows logic. The left today is just radical chic who know nothing about true communism."
Asked about the content of the Belve interview, Morrone clarifies: "I would do it all again. I don't regret anything." For him, in the United States, talent matters, not political views: "An actor should be an actor, not politics. But I have my values and I defend them."
The actor's intervention comes amid a media climate where—according to many—even the right is beginning to create its own faces in the entertainment world. It's no longer just a left-wing camp, and public figures like Morrone demonstrate this. |
