X JAPAN to Conquer the West as a Band of 6 and YOSHIKI Moved Deeply.


Just recently X JAPAN have been filming their footage for their 5 song videos totaling and amount of 500.000.000 Yen in expense, in Los Angeles, California, USA.

The stage was set to the 13th death anniversary of guitarist HIDE, with his guitar set up and YOSHIKI said [Today, HIDE has been with us the whole time.] As "6 members" of the band the filming had been taking place in the center of Hollywood, making a dream come true like that. [I am moved for the sake of TOSHI, as well as for HIDE. It is like a drama. Only the scenes and the measures are different.] YOSHIKI stated as the tears on his cheeks reflected a million different emotions.

The shoot, which took place from January 6th to the 14th, was made for the new song "Jade", which is also connected to the "revival of "Kurenai", somewhat of a new song in a wider perspective as well." These songs were followed by "Rusty Nail", "ENDLESS RAIN" and "I.V.".

YOSHIKI, who is an avid fan of Loas Angeles explained deeply moved: „In elementary school, when TOSHI and I founded our band, we played for the first time at the Chiba-Ken City Center. This has been such a long time, and now we are in Hollywood. There are certain aesthetics of the moment, as well as there are in the continuation of things." To perform in Hollywood had also been a dream of HIDE and YOSHIKI emphasized "X JAPAN are not 5 people, we are 6 now." And hot tears could be seen, spilling from his eyes.

X Japan's Toshi on the verge of divorce

X JAPAN vocalist TOSHI (44) is reportedly headed for divorce. He and his wife Kaori (40) are said to be entering arbitration, however, as Kaori has not consented to the divorce.

Kaori, a former idol who is currently a singer under the name WANKU, married TOSHI in 1997. For a time, she left show business to work as part of TOSHI's personal management office.

Shortly after TOSHI left X JAPAN in April 1997, he and Kaori met and became involved with the musician MASAYA, who had started a musical movement known as "iyashi-kei" (or "healing music"), along with self-development seminars under an organization called Home of Heart. The following year, TOSHI began receiving pressure from family and fans to leave Home of Heart, which some had labeled as a cult.

After much conflict, and the reunion of X JAPAN in 2008, TOSHI finally decided to break off from MASAYA and Home of Heart. At the same time, he also made his decision to separate from Kaori.

When reached for comment, Kaori denied that they are entering divorce arbitration. TOSHI's lawyer said that he could not comment due to confidentiality, but an explanation may come early next week.

Several Big Announcements from TOSHI



Singer TOSHI, of X JAPAN fame, organized a press conference on January 18th along with his lawyer to talk about all the rumours and news that have been released in the Japanese media in the last few days.

TOSHI was recently diagnosed with intercostal neuragia due to the high stress created by his solo career activities. Therefore, the concerts planned to take place near the end of the year were all canceled. However, regardless of that, he decided to take part in X JAPAN's music video shooting in Los Angeles in January, at which he appeared healthier and more lively, as fans could hear his enthusiastic screams.

In the press conference, TOSHI talked about how he had been having problems with his voice over the last few years. He also discussed his divorce from wife Kaori Moritani (who also goes by the stage name WANKU) and his departure from Home of Heart, the label that has managed his solo activities for the last twelve years. According to the singer, he never received much profit from his solo activities, as all the money was sent directly to MASAYA, the owner of the label and producer of his newest projects, such as TOSHI with T-EARTH. All of TOSHI's expenses were paid with his own money, making it hard to support himself due to the lack of real money.

In addition, TOSHI also filed for bankruptcy in December due to the huge amount of leftover taxes that were all created by MASAYA and the Home of Heart company in TOSHI's name. This tax issue is being handled by an investigation company, which has been working on finding out if the singer really owes as much money as it was revealed. It is reported that the singer has over ten million yen, approximately US$750,000 of taxes under his own name.

TOSHI thought about all the subjects above in midst of his medical treatment, which has been going on for about two months. As the time passed slowly, he looked back at his own life and realized that it was a time for a change, as this situation in his life was no longer palatable. When asked about bandmate YOSHIKI, he got teared up and confessed that the drummer has given him the power to persevere from now on.

Furthermore, TOSHI has declared that, as he is starting his life over, his solo career and activities with his newest project TOSHI with T-EARTH have been officially ceased. A farewell solo concert is currently in the works, with the production of YOSHIKI. The singer, however, plans to keep pursuing his career with X JAPAN positivitely in the future.

YOSHIKI Moved Greatly by Request of TOSHI to Produce his Final Solo Concert!


To focus on their activities as X JAPAN's, both YOSHIKI and TOSHI, respectively on the 19th and 18th of January, have announced that TOSHI is going to performe his last solo concert according to YOSHIKI's production plans. It has also been decided that for that performance on February 24th, all the members of X JAPAN will be performing as well, however, the place has not been announced yet. "It will be a very suitable place for TOSHI to return to." YOSHIKI said. "We will do what we can, for TOSHI with all our strength." For them it will be like starting over with a friend of old times.

TOSHI's „Good Bye Concert" was moving YOSHIKI as a producer just as much, when announced. The vocalist had been calling him, to inform about the news and his wished. "To properly end my solo activities, I would like to hold a farewell concert and I would like you to produce it for me!", he had confessed. From that moment on, YOSHIKI had been gone into the arrangements for the event and set it up within 24 hours. More information on ticket sales and the venue will be announced during the following days.

Lately, TOSHI had been in continuous battles with his wife, currently a singer at his own label WANKU Meitsu, about divorcing, as well as an insolvency issues. On January 18th in Aimi, he held a special seminar of his group "Home of Heart", where he had been announcing his farewell from MASAYA and his wife and talked about his hopes for the future development.

YOSHIKI Sending out a Message to his Fans!


Just recently it seems that fans have received messages directly from YOSHIKI.
From the beginning of this year and the respective greetings, over the thoughts on reforming X JAPAN in past and presence and forth until the future have been written.
We would like to introduce one of the parts to you!

From the perspective of Friends, as well as from the perspective of being members of X JAPAN, there have been really quite a few things happening between TOSHI and myself. The both of us have been long time friends ever since our childhood.
For the sake of TOSHI.... For TOSHI and the fans supporting him, we need a little courage from you...because we don't want this to end in regret.

There has been little time and as it is passing quickly, and if I could support him from here...
My thoughts of him have not changed like that. When asking why, because I, TOSHI and HIDE and the other members...and all the fans, we have come this far!

Neither for TOSHI nor for me the road we chose to take from here, will be a solely happy one, however, we will add to each other's strangth and give oru very best, I think!

This has been one of the moments, conveyed to the fans of X JAPAN and apart from that, the new beginning of TOSHI hase been written down in various ways for the fans. More will certainly be learned on February 24th on which he will hold his "Farewell Concert" - his good bye to his own solo career...

X Japan headed for Lollapalooza


On Sunday, Yoshiki announced that X Japan intends to play at this year's Lollapalooza festival, scheduled for August 6-8 in Chicago. Tentative reports of X Japan performing there first surfaced last month, but now it appears that the possibility will become a reality.

As a voting member of the Recording Academy, Yoshiki attended the Grammys on Sunday night. During an interview by reporters on the red carpet, Yoshiki revealed the news about Lollapalooza. It is said that X Japan received an offer from the festival's organizers to play on the main stage, and the band has decided to take it. A formal announcement with details is expected to be made later this month.

X Japan would be the first Japanese artist to perform on Lollapalooza's main stage. It would also be the band's first U.S. concert, though they already have plenty of fans around the world. They had planned a world tour in 2009, but due to various circumstances, they canceled most of their shows. However, if all goes well, X Japan is aiming to revive the world tour this year, starting with the Lollapalooza performance.

X JAPAN to Repeat Airing of HONG KONG Performance!

On January 17th 2009 X JAPAN had been holding a concert at the ASIA WORLD EXPO in Hong Kong. The scheduled amount of tickets for the event had been sold out the same day, coming down to 10.000 tickets and the event organizers received a lot of protest messages from fans who couldn't get a ticket. Therefore, X JAPAN had been scheduling a sudden additional performance for the 16th of January in response.

After having finalized these two nights in a row, YOSHIKI said, that for them it was certainly one of their best concerts.
And as it had been roughly a year since those lives, TV program WOWOW will be airing the footage of "破壊の夜 Extra / Hakai no Yoru Extra" from the 16th as well as the "破壊の夜in HONGKONG / Hakai no Yoru in HONGKONG" from the 17th once again.

News from TOSHI


X JAPAN's vocalist and solo singer TOSHI has opened a new website called ToshI Official WEB SITE -Samurai JAPAN-, in which he reveals more details regarding his final solo activities.

TOSHI held a press conference in January to clarify rumors about his personal life and to announce that he was distancing himself from the Home of Heart label and producer MASAYA, as well as his divorce with wife Kaori Moritani, also known as WANKU. In the same conference, the singer also revealed that he is ceasing activities both for TOSHI with T-EARTH and his solo work.

TOSHI has now revealed that he is changing the writing of his name to ToshI and that his final solo concert will be called ToshI LAST CONCERT [Samurai JAPAN]. Produced by YOSHIKI, the live will be held on February 24th. His X JAPAN bandmates PATA, HEATH, SUGIZO and YOSHIKI have all been listed as guest musicians for the concert.

Lastly, ToshI is starting sales of a new, self-produced original EP called Samurai JAPAN via his brand-new official website. Limited to 2,000 copies, the CD features four songs and both SUGIZO and PATA as recording musicians.

Toshi's Last Concert Before Joining Back Together with X JAPAN


X JAPAN's TochI will be holding his last solo concert on February 24th, titled "武士JAPAN / Bushi Japan". Moreover, special guests for that night will YOSHIKI, PATA, HEATH and SUGIZO, who will also be performing as it had been announced recently.

A Special site for "Bushi JAPAN" has been opened on February 9th since 7pm, which is limited to 2000 people.

For ToshI's new production, there will also be special guests, namely PATA and SUGIZO taking part in it.
