MALACCA: A group of prospective tenants who wanted to check out an office lot to rent had a shock of their lives when they saw a body of a boy inside the building. The incident happened at 6.30pm yesterday when the group went inside the empty office lot at Taman Merdeka Jaya. When the three people walked upstairs to have a look, they found the lifeless body of the boy tied up to a chair and his mouth gagged. State CID chief ACP Raja Shahrom Raja Abdullah said the boy was found clad in jeans and a T-shirt. No identity document was found on the body. “We believe he died less than 24 hours ago based on the body’s condition. There was no sign of strangulation or stab wounds on the body. The victim was found on his side, probably due to an attempt to free himself. The body was sent for a post-mortem at Malacca Hospital,” he said at the scene. ACP Raja Shahrom declined to comment whether the police had received a report of a kidnap. However, it was learnt that a 44-year-old woman from Taman Merdeka had lodged a police report on Sunday claiming that her son had been kidnapped. There were no details on the woman’s report and its reasons. The Star
