IPOH: A 10-year-old boy was killed when he hit his head on one of the concrete cylinders that he, his elder brother and three friends were playing with. Heng Choy Jia was found unconscious by his mother after the other boys fled the place around 5pm on Sunday. The site at Kampung Baru Kanthan in Chemor, 23km from here, is used to store construction materials. It is near the house of the boy’s grandmother. Father Heng Tat Lam said Choy Jia, his 14-year-old brother and three friends were playing at the site before the fatal accident. It is believed Choy Jia was sitting inside one of the cyclinders when the other boys started to shove it. This caused the cylinder to roll and resulted in the victim falling out from his hiding place and the cylinder hitting the back of his head. “He was unconscious when my wife found him. “She rushed him to the Sungai Siput Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival,” said the distraught father, who was at a nearby coffee shop with his friends when the incident took place. The child’s body was later transferred to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here, where a post-mortem showed Choy Jia had died of serious head injuries. The Star
