Earlier in the week, we marked the 40th anniversary of the cell phone. It was Marty Cooper, a pioneering engineer, who made the world’s first cell phone call using Motorola’s brick-like DynaTAC phone in 1973. It is funny to think that the first few cell phones weighed over two pounds and had battery life span of only 35 minutes.
About four decades on, cell phones are more widely known as smartphones, and have undergone an incredible transformation spurred by new technologies. The iPhone 5, for example, measures a mere 7.6 millimeters thin and weighs just 112 grams, which is a stark contrast to Motorola’s DynaTAC 8000X, the first commercial handheld cellphone.
The introduction of new computer-like features has revolutionized the way we communicate. I read an article likening smartphones to cigarettes of a new generation, a fair statement in light of our technologically dependent tendencies. According to an article in Time Magazine last year, a survey found that 60% of smartphone owners don’t go an hour without checking their phones, while one in five people will check it immediately after sex.
Design website Twenty Pixels published a quirky comic strip entitled “Life before & after Cell Phones” which perfectly depicts the cons of being too attached to our smartphones.

aku tak pakai smartphone, tp majoriti kawan2 aku, pakai, dr galaxy note la, lumia la, tab la, tablet la, .....tp 1 kelemahan/keburukan yg aku dpat tngok bila aku keluar gi makan/jalan2 ke shopping mall, kawan2 aku masing2 duk sibuk tekan2 itu ini kat henpon canggih touch screen diorg tu, dah makin kurang interaksi/bual2 dikalangan member2 aku sendiri...., ye la, masing2 duk sibuk gigih menghupdate itu ini kt henpon bijak/smartphone diorg tu...
ada sekali tu, aku keluar makan ngan member2 aku kat mamak, bila dah berkumpul tu, 5 minit pertama je duk sembang2, lepas tu, diorg sumer duk sibuk update itu ini kt henpon diorg, aku sorg je yg duk diam tak buat apa...
baik tak payah keluar ngan member klau masing2 duk sibuk menghadap henpon...

ngeee,
ohnolia rasa rutinnya begini.
mula2 kena update member2 kat wassap, family mungkin dan fb, dan sms yg kita dah sampai, and kawan2 pun dah sampai.
lepas tu ada yg tanya, siapa yg dpt join, dan mula bergossip di wassap. kemudian ada yg tanya itu ni, so saling mereplylah kan...
ambil gambar makanan sendiri lepas tu ambil makanan kawan2..
lepas tu update kat instagram, kat fb, kat wassap.... lepas saling mereply lagi....
lepas tu lepas tu lepas tu....

tak beradab betul kekawan u,
kalau kawan me camni, jawabnya itulah kali terakhir keluar makan sesama....

me suka me semakphong . tapi me tak lah tahap begitu yg cuma me tak ingat phone rumah walaupun last 4 digit same number...hahaha sebab me jarang call rumah... |

pakai nokia cokia jah..tu pun selalu sepah2..bawah bantal la..bawah kusyen la..atas lemari la...
kuar pun kdg2 tertinggal kat umah...
still tak boleh digest mentaliti segala benda nak diambil gbr dan upload sana sini..
sib baik la diorg ni masih ada akal sikit takde upload gbr tgh berak atau kencing.. |

Dulu mula2 pakai smartphone suke lah update itu ini.. Waktu masih mude katakan.. Tapi skang ni tak lagi sebab dh boring nak update2. Gune untuk forum n surfing je. Klu kat rumah mak langsung tak pegang fon sebab sibuk dengan anak buah.  |

I'm still with my 4 year-old smartphone...no longer smart dah...tapi okay je....blh lagi call/sms/whatsapp.
Saya belum sampai tahap tu lagi la...cam letih je ngadap hp 24/7  |

kwn cmtu, time makan amik gmba, time pegi toilet amik gmba..
cume lum jupe lagi, time berak, dia amik bape ketul taik jatuh dlm lubang aja....mgkin kwn tu ade kemungkinan jadi cmni..
facebook status " 3 ketul 'bom' warna coklat pekat berjaya dijatuhkn..." update dari tandas shopping complex...
