Position: Enterprise Collaboration Portal Specialist – Global Knowledge Products

Job Summary: Located in Kuala Lumpur, the Enterprise collaboration portal specialist works together with Global Knowledge Products to develop and maintain our collaboration portal such that it fully supports our needs in terms of managing our knowledge and collaboration between knowledgeable colleagues around the world. The emphasis here is using your expertise on knowledge sharing and knowledge portals to understand others’ requirements and help them realize their goals.

• Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall design, implementation and support of our collaboration portal (built in Novell Vibe)
• Is the go-to person for advice on how best to manage and promote information via the portal.
• Makes it easy and desirable for colleagues to use the portal in particular and collaboration tools in general across the organization. Works with colleagues globally to implement new requirements that support sharing knowledge via the portal.
• Owns administration of the portal, including associated processes and procedures, including (but not limited to) ensuring that information is well organized, easily accessible and up-to-date.
• Recognizes, documents and promotes best practice in portal usage.
• Actively promotes and facilitates usage of the portal, and tracks this by agreed metrics.
  

Job requirements:

• University degree in software engineering, mathematics, econometrics, or artificial intelligence, with a background in IT.
• An excellent command of English is required.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience in Java, C++ or similar object-oriented platforms.
• Experience in the area of integration (XML, .NET, XI, SOAP, MQs,SAP PI) as well as database knowledge (Oracle, MS SQL Server, ODBC).
• Experience with web languages and scripts such as HTML, Javascript and CSS.
• Solid background in Windows Operating and VM systems.
• Experience with Novell Vibe or another enterprise collaboration portal is preferred.
• Ability to operate on a high abstraction and analytical level.
