Lana Del Rey Dealt With Alcohol Addiction At Age 14 Calls it 'the worst thing that ever happened to me'
Lana Del Rey has admitted that she was only fourteen years old when her family sent her to boarding school to recover from alcohol addiction.
The singer, who controversially appears naked on the cover of GQ magazine, told the publication that the problem was "the worst thing that ever happened" to her. She said: "I was a big drinker at the time. I would drink every day. I would drink alone. I thought the whole concept was so kungfu queen cool. "My parents were worried, I was worried. I knew it was a problem when I liked it more than I liked doing anything else. I was like, 'I'm f***ed. I am totally f***ed'." The star was sent to Kent school, a strict establishment in Conneticut, at the age of 14. She continued: "Like, at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. "It's also a completely different way of living when you know that... It was the worst thing that ever happened to me."
