22 haribulan tu kalau tak silap aku, Iron Maiden mula tour USA (dua venue je!) .. diaorang main 4 malam berturut-turut kat Hammerstein Ballroom, NYC. Aku tengok gambo kat official BB dengan sikit review yang attend show tu ... dapat aku simpulkan yang venue ni bangunan kecik je (namapun ballroom!) dengan maximum kapasiti 4,000 orang. Happening jugak show tu! ... aku setuju la dengan deaf pasai kemaruk MTV orang2 Yankee ni, patotpun Iron Maiden buat 2 show je kat USA, dengan tempat kecik lagi! Kecuali kat NY dan LA yang crowd dia respon semua baik lagu2 lama atau lagu2 DoD tuh!... pernah aku baca (source dia aku tak ingat dah!) yang ada sesetengah tempat kat US tu bila diaorang main lagu2 lama ... crowd ni bangkit berdiri, beri reaksi hangat tapi bila main lagu2 baru, diaorang pun siap duduk balik kat lantai tengok Iron Maiden sambil makan McD lagi!.. macam le tengok dinner show! ni le agaknya yang membuatkan Iron Maiden tawar hati nak tour US ni ...

Apa2pun, terfikir jugak aku .. ngape le tak ada promoter belah sini yang ambik inisiatif bawak Iron Maiden main kat rantau ni .. alah bukannya risky sangat, aku rasa daripada respon diaorang dalam Q&A kat official site dulu, diaorang pun tak kisah main kat venue kecik (macam Hammerstein tu lah!) ... aku rasa kat Mesia ni banyak sangat Ampitheatre berkapasiti 4,000 orang tu macam kat Sunway Lagoon atau kat Arena Of Stars, Genting Highlands. Tak pun, cari le lagi kecik punya tempat macam Studio 1 ASTRO ke (lawak????) ... atau banyak Dewan Serbaguna mana-mana! .... kat Singapore usah cakap la, aku rasa banyak venue medium size ni!

bagi aku memang ada pro and kontra kalau iron maidem JAMMED kat mesia ni..kalau nak ikutkan RATIO..follower IM ni semuanya dah tua...sebab IM bangkit zaman 80' so peminat yang ada skarang ni dah kira 3 generations... kalau la IM buat kat mesia tak ramai yg sanggup dtg sebab.. ikut culture diaorg tu tau je lah... ramai yang takleh follow lagi.... takat dengar  cd or kaset kat kete or  paling cikaipun  layan kat bilik sensorang BOLEHLA....

IM pada zamannya memang BEST..tapi biase ler..... PEOPLE CHANGE....

Tempat dia, tak salah aku macam pawagam zaman dulu.
Yang ada stall duduk kat bawah,

3rd nite - kecoh la, ada peminat dah over excited, dia duduk kat bahagian level #2, dia sudah pegi buang satu can beer penuh kat bawah, dia rejam betul kena kat soundboard desk tempat Maiden punya soundman duduk.

Terus pasal programming semua dah rosak , sound board ni dah jahanam kena air, jadi 3rd nite Maiden tak buat encore. Habis la tu 3 lagu takde.

4th nite paling disaster la.
Rumours dah keluar kat official forum, yang 4th nite ni kensel, tapi Maiden tak buat official announcement sampai last minute.
Tu jam, peminat Maiden semua dah travel dari seluruh amerika naik bas, naik kapal terbang, belanja duit hotel, semua.
Tempat gig tu, dah overbooking. Promoter dorang screw up.

Jadi walaupun ni bukan salah Maiden, tapi ni kasi lagi api yang Maiden memang tak suka Amerika.
Tapi kesian la peminat setia mereka. Kat porum Maiden, kesian jugak baca cerita2 mereka blanja duit tapi tak dapat tengok Maiden.

Tak semestinya kalau Maiden famous zaman dulu dan peminatnya mostly otai, tak akan ada sambutan hebat kalau konsert di Malaysia ... sebagai contohnya masa konsert Deep Purple di Stadium Shah Alam (tahun 1999), sambutan peminat otai punya la banyak ... siap bawak anak pinak lagi (yang bawak bini punya la banyak termasuk aku) ... Deep Purple bukannya hits pun zaman 90'an dulu ... last hits masa album Knocking At Your Back Door & Perfect Stranger pertengahan tahun 80'an ... tapi sambutan tetap hebat ... tiket pun bukannya murah, in terms of profit memang promoter made big money ler coz satu household bawak paling kurang 1 partner.

I guess the same goes kalau Maiden buat konsert kat Malaysia.

Sedih aku baca..... Dah 20 lebih tahun aku dengar Maiden, dari aku budak kecik sampai dah tua sekarang, begitu juga ngan ahli2 Maiden. Satu hari nanti, kumpulan Maiden akan terkubur.

IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris spoke to Japan's Daily Yomiuri about the possibility of the band one day finally bringing down the curtain on what has been a glorious career.

"We have all talked about it and we are aware that you can't go on forever," he admitted. "But it's something that you can't put a time on it. You just have to do it when everyone feels that's it and we don't feel like that yet.

"We don't want to make the mistake that a few bands have made and say, 'That's it' and two years later think, 'I'm a bit bored now, let's do it again.'

"Once that's it, it should really be it."

Maiden sedang buat Dance of Death World Tour.

Gossip2 yang boleh dipercayai dari Eropah dan Amerika Selatan cakap,

Maiden akan terbitkan live dvd/video untuk Dance of Death Tour ni.

Tapi ai bukan tunjukkan satu tempat rakaman je macam biasa, tetapi dari berbagai2 tempat dan negara bagi setiap lagu.

Aku agak teknologi dah advance la, Maiden boleh angkut kamera banyak2 tiap2 show.





p.s - aku dah dapat satu rakaman video penuh Dance of Death, Ia adalah 2/11/2003 Madrid Sepanyol.
Saiz dia 2.93gb. Kat dalam hard disk drive aku. 61 files berasingan berbentuk .rar. Kena joint up untuk view concert ni.

highlight2 buat masa ni -

Lagu Dance of Death - Intro dia ada poetry. Bruce pakai topeng cam album kulit Dance of Death dan betul2 hayati lagu tu ngan gerak geri dia. Pakai jubah cam Eddie kat kulit tu masa penghabisan lagu.:bg::bg:

Lagu Paschendale - adoi!!!! Dramatik, pentas diubah seperti senario perang, dengan barricade semua, dry ice dilepaskan, jadi pentas betul2 cantik.
Ada baca poetry jugak untuk intro lagu.
Bruce pakai helmet askar, dan trench coat... :eek:

Lagu Journeyman-  Steve pakai bass accoustik, tiga2 guitarist pun pakai akkoustik gitar jugak.

Bruce pernah cakap lebih koreng begini ... Maiden bukannya "nostalgia act"!. Aku setuju la diaorang kena emphasis lebih lagu baru (macam deaf buat statistik tu in the previous counter-thread!) ... tapi part lagu2 lama tu aku rasa bukannya diaorang tak ndak ubah tapi macam HBTN, TT & NOTB tu memeng dah jadi lagu wajib laaa ... dari beberapa statement yang aku baca, aku dapat rasakan yang the deepest fear bagi Iron Maiden ni jika nak tukar satu2 lagu old stuffs ialah ... audience melopong macam tengok UFO! senyap je! ... sementelah lagi sejak 90s hingga kini diaorang dah rasa nikmat maximum audience participation (kadang2 hingga tenggelam suara Bruce!) bagi setiap lagu dalam setlist! ... bukan setakat nyanyi sama ikut lirik tapi siap ikut ooo-oooh melodi gitar lagi .. ni le yang aku syok dengor live stuff Maiden (selain Bruce rants as well!). Aku tak tau le kalau band lain yang aku tak tau tapi ada respon macam ni tanpa perlu buat gimik atau ad-lib di tengah-tengah lagu untuk dapatkan audience participation!.

Aku pun ada dengar/download 1 - 2 lagu dari Gimme The Ed Tour (cth. 22 Acacia Avenue & Die With Your Boots On) .. antara lagu2 lama Maiden yang dah lama di-delete daripada regular setlist lepas tu main balik dalam tour tu ... aku dengar respon audience bagi lagu2 tersebut amat kurang jika dibandingkan dengan all-out screaming audience semasa Wrathchild, Wildest Dream, Fear Of The Dark dan The Trooper (just to name a few!), mungkin sebab tu le diaorang decided to stuck to their regular setlist!
