lately i have been reading a few traveloques.  nak melancung tak mampu (sebab gerabak panjang) so i decided to become an armchair traveller.  Dah baca khalid hosseini two books about afghanistan- KITE RUNNER & THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS - kite runner is splendid.  a thousand splendid sun is depressing.  i have to take a rest from it because i kept imagining myself in a situation that the women in the book were in and getting stressed out by it. THREE CUPS OF TEA also about northern pakistan and afghanistan is wonderful as well.  These books makes me rasa macam nak sangat melawat afghanistan, to experience what it's like to live simply among these people.  may be when things have calm down over there.  right now i am reading a book titled COME BACK TO AFGHANISTAN by Said Hyder Akhbar.  It chronicles the visit of a teenage second generation afghan american to afghanistan soon after 9/11.  Last week I travelled to tuscany (in my armchair), Italy while reading a book by frances mayes called BELLA TUSCANY.  I read UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN by the same author a couple years back.  now tuscany is among the places that i would like to visit after dah buat haji.

cite ni aku bace 4-5 kali sedih lagi..aku bknnya org yg mudah nak nangis..boleh bilang berapa kerat je buku alaf21 yg boleh buat aku sebak..ni novel lama yg dh lama aku baca tp still ant. my fav.

sinopsis-cite dr persepsis sorg adik perempuan ttg 2 org abang kembarnya-jalil dan jamil kalau xsilap namanya.psl mak dia yg berat sebelah dan xsuka sorg anaknya-sorg pandai belaja(yg mak dia suka)r,sorg lagi pandai art..cerita dr diorg kecik smpi besar..sedey..huhu

i refuse to listen to sad music or stay inside my house moping around
i need a substantial mourning period

went to the book store one random day and picked up a totally random book called 'How Starbucks Saved My Life' by Michael Gill. It's biographical a riches to rag story about a high flying advertising exec's fall from grace. he eventually worked as a barista at starbucks.

first: i'm a starbucks addict! so the title attrackted my attention
second: with the current economic climate, many people are fearing their ricebowl including myself and so the story was very timely

everyone goes through rough patches in their lives and this story the guy managed to reflect his life choices and learned about humility when tasked to make coffee.. you know how it goes, when you're at the counter as a customer ordering your latte, we often think that our lives are better then those behind the counters steaming our milk.. but sometimes, we don't realise that they're having the better deal..

made me want to be a barista too...
worth a read but writing can be a bit draggy... but the story is there.
