Kuching South mayor Chong passes away
KUCHING: Kuching South mayor Chong Ted Tsiung, 51, passed away Friday morning at a private hospital here after a short illness.  He had been in the job for less than year, having been sworn into office on Sept 25 last year.  The first civil servant to be appointed mayor in Kuching South, he was previously controller of the Sarawak Natural Resources and Environment Board.  His body has been taken home for people to pay their last respects.
