Businessman To Contest As Independent In Ijok By-election

KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 (Bernama) -- A businessman, K. Loganadan, announced today he would contest as an independent in the Ijok state by-election.

Loganadan told Bernama his decision to contest was not on the instigation of anyone but to fulfil his desire to serve the rural folk.

He claimed the area had not tasted much development and progress under the previous assemblyman.

Loganadan, 47, who lives in Klang, was born in Caledonian Estate, near Ijok town. He received his primary education at a Tamil school there and went to a secondary school in Batang Berjuntai and Batu Arang.

"I'm a local boy who lived in Ijok for 18 years and I'm very familiar with the people's problems in the constituency," said Loganadan, who is also deputy president of Kelab Motivasi Insan Cemerlang Selangor, a non-governmental organisation.

Claiming that he was an MIC member for about eight years, Loganadan said he had many relatives and friends in Caledonian Estate, which comes under the Ijok constituency.

The Barisan Nasional (BN) would announce its candidate in Ijok tomorrow at a function attended by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Khir Toyo and MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu.

The BN candidate from MIC has been endorsed by Prime Minister and BN chairman Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

The Ijok seat fell vacant following the death of incumbent BN assemblyman Datuk K. Sivalingam, 59, of a heart attack in Chennai, India, on April 4.

The Election Commission has set Thursday for nomination and April 28 for polling in the event of a contest.

Meanwhile, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) information chief Tian Chua said the party would announce its candidate on Tuesday.

JK's Digest No. 30 of April 2007 (86 of 2007) After Machap N8 (98), it is N11 for Ijok

So soon after Machap another MCA's Assemblyman almost died in an accident in Pahang.

But the grievous injury is enough to indicate some message. After Machap N8 or 98 when Anwar made an impact in the nation, and then N11 of 911 was the next impact for the world also involving Malaysia as the launching pad, N11 Ijok is anything to be telling a sign when at least 3 Indians are interested to contest in a Malay Majority seat in Selangor.

After I, Joshua Kong (Ijok) in Kinabalu Sabah for KS (K. Sivalingam) as Chief Minister (Cheenai Madras), it is witnessed after Machap for Malaysia Agreement or Malaysia Chapter where Tan Sri Chong on resigning as Deputy Chief Minister has set the first time bomb off for a new beginning in Sabah on 13th Friday, 2007.

Malaysia is sure to face the Tsunami of Royal Commissions of Inquiry (TRCI) while the Sabah has experienced the Tsunami of Illegals and Illegalities (TII) as indicated by 911 - also the special phone number to get emergency.

What do we expect except lots of public money to change hands between now and 28th April, 2007.

Meanwhile it is good luck for whoever be the winner of the by -elections.

chickens and flies have in common in Ijok

The media session started with a jittery Parthiban making small talks about the large swath of flies buzzing about at the Dewan Harmoni in Ijok where the announcement of his candidacy was made.

Jokes were also made linking the flies and the place - 慐

Kuala Selangor Chief Quits MIC

KUALA SELANGOR, April 16 (Bernama) -- Kuala Selangor MIC Division chief S.P. Thirumoorthy said Monday he was leaving the party because he was not picked as the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate to contest the Ijok state by-election later this month.

He made the announcement after Selangor Menteri Besar and BN chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Khir Toyo announced K. Parthiban, 38, the Tanjung Karang MIC secretary, as the BN candidate for the by-election, nomination for which is on April 19 and polling on April 28.

Thirumoorthy, 55, a secondary school teacher, claimed that MIC President Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu had not taken into consideration his long years of service with the party.

He also denied that he had backstabbed the party by supporting an independent candidate against the BN's Datuk K. Sivalingam in the 2004 general election in the constituency.

Sivalingam, who won the seat then, died of a heart attack in Chennai on April 4, necessitating the by-election.

On his future in politics, Thirumoorthy said he would take a break and then discuss it with his supporters.

Thirumoorthy, who had been the division chief since 1994, had on Sunday threatened to resign from the post if he was not selected to contest the seat on a BN ticket.

He has also claimed that the chairmen of 18 of the 36 MIC branches in the constituency would also resign.

Increasing social ills trouble Government

PUTRAJAYA: The number of Malaysians involved in social ills is now at a worrying level, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He called for local authorities and states to co-ordinate efforts to draw up involving programmes for youths that would prevent them from going astray.

Speaking after chairing the national social council meeting here yesterday, he said the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry had drawn up social impact assessment guidelines for the authorities to use.

trinity

JK's Digest No. 42 of April 2007 (98 of 2007)  FOODS for thoughts in Trinity

Three DAP Stalwarts are coming to Sabah while Ijok freezes over race and religion in the buy elections worth RM100 millions just for one seat.

On Sunday morning around 3am, a train ran over the three teenagers who were lying motionless on the railway track  while Mum removes body parts from track in SEGAMAT: Two days after a train ran over three teenage boys, one of the victim's parents is still collecting her son's limbs which were strewn all over the track.   Hariani Ibrahim, 42, the mother of Mohd Faisal Adam, said she wanted her son to be laid to rest with most of his body parts.
HELPLESS  for Sabah, DAP, as you can only oppose for nothing when the system is allowed to overrun Sabah.  DAP had representatives in Parliament before but what happened?
The three kids allowed the train to run over them HELPLESS on the rail track.
See Malaysia is actually Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak.  3 states in ONE run over by the train at 3 a.m.
We don't need all those little ones to die before Sabah is set free from Federalism.
What would be outcome in Ijok is going to impact Malaysia and Sabah but definitely not another May 13 in the offing?
The little disturbances should not lead to May 13 which happen for a different purpose.

Ijok or I choke or I, Joshua Kong

JK's Digest No. 48 of April 2007 (104 of 2007) by-buy elections in Batu Talam, Machap, Ijok (BTMI)

BTMI - bye bye UMNO and bye-bye BN (budak nakal) in Sabah

"Kalau kita nak cerita, banyak yang kita boleh cerita, lebih menarik, lebih berwarna warni (if we wish to reveal, there are plenty of stories, more interesting and more colourful ones)," Najib warned, saying there were those who cakap tak serupa bikin (do not practise what they preach)."

That was what DPM Najib said in DUN Ijok's by-buy elections or bye-bye erections to Until Malays No Options (UMNO).  No options to hide.

The deputy Chief Minister of Sabah Tan Sri Chong Kah Kiat (also former Chief Minister) said that he would reveal all at the right time for the reasons of his sudden resignation after Machap on Friday 13th April, 2007. What is CKK hiding? Obviously a time bomb!! CKK, do it now.

Tun Mahathir urged the voters of Ijok "Send signal to the 'rotten' government" [Fauwaz Abdul Aziz Apr 26, 07 10:53am] The Ijok state seat by-election this Saturday is the right time for the voters to shatter the government抯 propaganda that all is well, said former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysian Navy is facing a serious shortage of men and ships despite spending hundred of billions of Ringgit.

HOW ROTTEN IS THE GOVERNMENT OF MALAYSIA under umno?

It is both rotten and illegal hence plenty to hide after the most expensive General elections in 2004. The Prime Minister's Cabinet is still the corrupted lots although Abdullah pledged to do the cleaning up but a hoax. The nation is besieged by illegals and illegalities as in a tsunami of sort.

The results of 2004 GE for Sabah and the nation were all illegal.

The Election Commission as corrupted knew who were to win.

Joshua Kong lodged the report to Police and ACA, but nothing happen.

http://malaysian-elections-2004.blogspot.com/

So illegal Governments (Federal and State) must go and the 13th KING now installed on 26th April must do that.

Otherwise come another elections with the 30% and more voters are Project IC holders plus some phantoms, BN would be the winners before the polling day as the results were fixed already.

WAKE UP ALL MALAYSIANS AND SABAHANS.

STOP the mockery of democracy where one person one votes when illegal people become fake citizens of 1 to 2 millions in Sabah.

SUPPORT Joshua Kong as Chief Minister of Sabah to introduce a new beginning in a new system in Sabah touching Malaysia.

rigging and election offence ignored

JK's Digest No. 3 of May 2007 (115 of 2007) Ijok proves what?

"Ijok proves democracy still thriving" DPM Najib.

I would say " Ijok proves Election Commission still rigging plus BN abuses" if you read the story on the 143 missing ballot papers. (see below)

It can still be a case of switching ballot boxes and other tricks done with or without the knowledge of EC.

142 missing ballot papers: What happened?

Beh Lih Yi
Apr 30, 07 5:04pm

The Ijok by-election is over but there is a long list of questions waiting for answers from the Election Commission (EC).

Top on the list is the mystery behind 142 unreturned ballot papers at one of the five voting streams in the Pekan Berjuntai Bestari Utara polling district.

This amounts to nearly 30 percent of the total 500 ballot papers issued in the fourth voting stream in Pekan Berjuntai Bestari Utara. [Click here for the official breakdown sorting according to voting streams]

All ballot papers in other polling districts were accounted for except for Jaya Setia, where one ballot paper in the first voting stream was not returned.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat vice-president R Sivarasa described the missing ballot papers as a "strange, unusual and mysterious" occurrence.

"The high number of 142 is unacceptable. Surely there is something fundamentally wrong and it warrants a probe by EC," he said when contacted today.

Money offered?

According to him, the single unreturned ballot in Jaya Setia could be an isolated incident but not the rest.

"Since it is the first voting stream, (the reason) can be quite easily understood as an elderly voter may have dropped the ballot paper.

"But 142 unreturned ballot papers in another voting stream is just strange. The intention to take the ballot papers out without marking them suggests that money could have been offered for the ballot papers," he said

In Saturday抯 by-election, PKR candidate Khalid Ibrahim lost to BN抯 K Parthiban by a 1,850 vote majority amid allegations of election irregularities and phantom voters.

The EC today warned that it is an offence for anyone to collect ballot papers but not cast their votes.

The 143 'missing' ballot papers are considered a record in the country's electoral history.

It said offenders could be charged under the Election Offences Act and face a jail term of up to two years or RM5,000 fine.

EC secretary Kamaruzaman Mohd Noor said the practice of not returning the ballot paper occurred at every general election or by-election.

""The EC is unable to do anything. The booth to mark the ballot paper is a private place. If the voter keeps the ballot paper as a souvenir, there is nothing we can do," he told Bernama.

However, Sivarasa said the EC - an independent body tasked to organise elections in this country - cannot easily brush aside such a distrubing occurence.

"EC officers are duty-bound to observe and ensure that voters place their ballot papers inside the ballot boxes but EC failed to do so," he added.

PKR said it will dispute the election results but will first gather all the necessary evidence.

Other irregularities

Other alleged irregularities and discrepancies that have been recorded include:

1) Discrepancy on the polling result in Pekan Ijok

Before the official announcement that BN had won the by-election was made at 8.45pm, returning officer Haris Kasim read out the results from each voting stream.

According to him, PKR polled 135, 218 and 271 votes respectively in the three voting streams in Pekan Ijok while BN received 146, 206 and 253.

This led to PKR winning the Chinese-majority Pekan Ijok with 624 votes as opposed to BN which received 605 votes.

However, the election results distributed by EC to the media an hour later saw the votes received by PKR in the third voting stream in Pekan Ijok reduced by 40 - from 271 to 231. No explanation was given. [Click here for the official results]

Due to the change, PKR抯 votes were reduced to 584 and BN won Pekan Ijok.

2) Ballot papers collected by unknown individuals

Fifty-six-year-old voter Hiew Yoke Chau told malaysiakini that he was informed by BN and PKR polling agents that his ballot paper was collected by someone else when he came to vote at about 2pm in Pekan Ijok.

An EC officer finally allowed him to vote an hour later after he had signed a letter of oath declaring that he had not cast his ballot.

According to PKR, there were two other similar cases in Pekan Ijok.

3) Ballot paper for sale

It has been suggested that there were attempts to 慴uy
