AKB48’s sister group SKE48 has just achieved its first #1. The group’s fifth single, “Banzai Venus,” set a new personal record at 207,000 copies sold in the first week, claiming the top spot over male group NYC.
In the album rankings for the week, EXILE’s eighth album, “Negai no Tou,” sold close to 481,000 copies to claim #1. This is their 7th consecutive original album to top the charts.

AKB48 sub-unit Not yet released their debut single “Shuumatsu Not yet” last week, and it sold nearly 160,000 copies to rank #1 on the weekly charts. This sets the record for highest first-week sales by an AKB48 subgroup, easily surpassing the 95,000 sold by Watarirouka Hashiritai’s “Valentine Kiss” last month.
Not yet is the third AKB48 subgroup to achieve a #1 single, after Watarirouka Hashiritai and Team Dragon from AKB48.
Korean boy band BEAST took the #2 spot with their Japanese debut single “SHOCK.” This is the highest ranking ever for a debut single by a group from Asia (not including Japan).

Maximum the Hormone ranked #1 on the charts this week with their 9th single “Greatest the Hits 2011~2011,” selling 81,000 copies. Currently in their 11th year since their major label debut, they have now achieved their first number-one ever in either singles or albums.
