PROJEK TERBARU AHMAD DHANI - THE ROCK - MASTER MISTER AHMAD DHANI
Kapanlagi.com - Setelah setahun terbentuk, band The Rock yang beranggotakan Ahmad Dhani (Dewa 19), Mark Williams, Zachary Haidee-Keene, Michael Bennett, Clancy Alexander Tucker (Fireshark, Australia) akan melepas album debutnya akhir bulan ini.
"Album pertama The Rock akan kita luncurkan dalam waktu dekat ini, mungkin tanggal 30 Agustus," kata Dhani kepada wartawan, sebelum naik pentas dalam Konser Perpaduan Musik Sempurna di Shutterland, Dirgantara, Pondok Gede, Jakarta Timur, Minggu malam (26/08).
Menurut Dhani, album pertama The Rock masih menempatkan dirinya sebagai direktur, personil lain hanya mengikuti saja.
"Soalnya untuk kolaborasi belum memungkinkan. Mereka ini band underground sedangkan saya di Dewa bermain poprock," katanya.
Ia mengatakan pula, kolaborasi dalam arti membuat musik dan lirik secara bersama-sama akan dilakukan di album kedua, sedangkan sekarang masih melihat reaksi pasar.
"Terus terang ini baru percobaan. Konser nanti kita juga masih pinjam lagu Dewa, Sedang Ingin Bercinta," katanya.
Sementara itu, personil lainnya mengatakan bahwa mereka sampai saat ini bisa menikmati bermain dengan Dhani dalam The Rock.
Konser 'Perpaduan Musik Sempurna' merupakan kolaborasi antara The Rock dan brand Marlboro Kretek Filter, yang memiliki keinginan sama untuk memperkenalkan diri kepada publik di Tanah Air.
Pertunjukan di Pondok Gede merupakan yang keempat digelar di empat kota dari 10 kota yang dijadwalkan.
Sebelumnya, pertunjukan sudah digelar di Tasikmalaya, Bogor dan Bandung, dan akan berlanjut di kota Solo, Semarang, Jogja, Malang, Surabaya, dan Denpasar, Bali.
Dalam konsernya, The Rock membawakan enam lagu, Sandman, Dimensi, Cinta Kau dan Dia, Rahasia Perempuan (feat. Ari Lasso), Munajat Cinta, dan Sedang Ingin Bercinta.
Selama tampil, sekitar 5.000 penonton turut bergoyang dan bernyanyi, terutama pada lagu-lagu hits yang mereka kenal.

PASAL KES DEWA 19 DENGAM\N SYARIKAT RAKAMAN DORANG DEDULU.
Upset by what it says are repeated accusations of unlawful business practices by Aquarius Musikindo records and inquiries by the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU), EMI Indonesia has threatened to sue both.
"If they continue to defame EMI by continuously making these accusations, which are completely without legal merit, we will sue the pair of them," EMI Indonesia managing director Arnel Affandi told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.
Arnel said that he had been repeatedly summoned by the KPPU since early last year about alleged unlawful practices related to the switch by multi-platinum band Dewa 19 from Aquarius to EMI. However, he said, the allegations had never been acted on as their was no proof.
"The KPPU does not have a case here. The Antimonopoly Law clearly states that intellectual property rights are excluded. Dewa's records are protected under intellectual property rights law, so the KPPU has no jurisdiction," Arnel said.
The KPPU said this week that it had gathered enough prima facie evidence to press ahead with the case against EMI Southeast Asia, EMI Indonesia, the former legal consultant to Aquarius and Dewa 19.
"We decided at a commission meeting that this case is worth pursuing. We have enough preliminary evidence to back our decision," KPPU chairman Muhammad Iqbal told the Post on Tuesday.
The case against EMI alleges the firm was guilty of using confidential information to formulate the terms of the offer it made to Dewa 19, which resulted in the band dumping Aquarius in 2004. This information, it is claimed, was gained from Arnel, who was then working as a legal consultant with Aquarius's publishing department. Following the signing up of Dewa 19 by EMI, Arnel was appointed managing director of EMI Indonesia.
Iqbal said that the KPPU investigators had summoned a number of key witnesses from Aquarius, as well as Arnel. He added that more witnesses would be summoned in the coming weeks.
The KPPU is expected to arrive at a final decision on the case in November.
Speaking as Aquarius's attorney, Rikrik Rizkiyana said that EMI had been going all out to lure top selling artists from other recording companies, often using unfair business practices.
"EMI obtained information from the consultant about a dispute between Dewa and Aquarius over the band's contract. Armed with that information, EMI then made an offer that could not be matched by Aquarius," Rikrik said.
Arnel denied the allegation that he had leaked confidential information, saying that he jointed EMI only after the firm had signed up Dewa 19.
"Secondly, Dewa 19 does not have a contract with us. The band is signed with EMI Southeast Asia. Ahmad Dhani (the band leader) chose EMI because of his personal preference as Queen is also with EMI," he added.
"I've been patient all this time. In fact, this is the first time I've spoken to the media about the case. If they continue to bother us, I will report the KPPU to the ombudsman and bankrupt Aquarius," he threatened.
