Ozil already a Man United player?
Mesut Ozil appears to be already a Manchester United player after his profile template was placed on the club's official website.
The Daily Mail has apparently picked that up and while no formal announcement has been made regarding the signing of the highly coveted German midfielder, his profile on United's website has only fueled speculation of his imminent move to Old Trafford.
The Werder Bremen starlet has been hotly linked with a host of top clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and United after impressing in the World Cup.
And although Bremen's sporting director Klaus Allofs earlier claimed the club have not received any bids from Barcelona, no mention was made about United.
Sir Alex Ferguson was also recently spotted at a pre-season game between Fulham and Bremen, further fueling his interest in signing the 23-year-old.
United have moved swiftly to pour cold water on an imminent move for the playmaker, claiming Ozil's profile is nothing more than a technical glitch.
It is still not known if appearance of the profile was a result of the site being hacked but the profile can still be viewed here. |

Man United vs Newcastle Preview
Wayne Rooney will be looking to score when Manchester United open their Premier League campaign against Newcastle.
Rooney scored 34 goals for the Old Trafford outfit last year but has not found the net for club or country since opening the scoring in United's Champions League quarter-final defeat to Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena.
New signing Javier Hernandez may have to be content with a place on the bench after a midweek trip to Mexico for the friendly draw with Spain.
Newcastle manager Chris Hughton is confident striker Andy Carroll will have recovered from his back problem in time to lead the line at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old suffered the injury in the Magpies' final pre-season friendly against Rangers but has trained this week.
Alan Smith (ankle) is also available but striker Leon Best and defender Danny Simpson are facing spells on the sidelines with similar problems.
Sol Campbell is not match-fit yet and will have to wait for his debut while defender Steven Taylor (shoulder) and new signing Dan Gosling (knee) are long-term absentees. |
