Boateng: Man Utd hate Middlesbrough trips
Middlesbrough midfielder George Boateng has revealed how Manchester United cannot stand trips to Teesside."I know when Ruud was at Manchester, whenever wemet up with the national team he always used to moan and say he hatedcoming to the Riverside," said Boateng. "I asked him why and he said'because it's always cold and the team is always aggressive and youdon't get time on the ball'.
"I know that the United players don't fancy coming to us so I hope we can give a bit of a twist to the title race."
Ahead of today's game, Boateng also backed Afonso Alves to break his scoring duck.
He said: "I thought Afonso came on and did very well at Chelsea. He was bright, he was sharp and he chased lost causes.
"You could see he was up for it and I liked thepositions he got in for the chances, even the one where he hit the post- he did it really well, with a bit of luck it would have gone in.
"You could see that he is getting closer and getting chances and in games like this I think he will be marvellous.
"Even though he didn't score it's a good confidence boost because he is getting closer." |

Schwarzer: Man Utd's Rooney not that good
Middlesbrough goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer says Manchester United's English star Wayne Rooney is no match for the Premiership best foreigners.
The Australian goalkeeper told the Observer: "The English league was always a popular league back in the 70s and 80s but it has never been as popular as it is now. Why? Cristiano Ronaldo is one reason, Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres are others.
"There's not an English player like them, as much as everybody in England wishes. Wayne Rooney was supposed to be that good but even he hasn't progressed as they've wanted him to." |
