Rafael Benitez is prepared to offload Jerzy Dudek and Jan Kromkamp to sign the Dutch striker.
Feyenoord appear to be resigned to losing Kuyt. They have allowed him to miss training and have left him off the team picture for the new season.
The transfer is expected to go through in the next 48 hours. |

The season has not even started and Jose Mourinho has started making excuses for why Chelsea wont be ready to face Liverpool in the Community shield.

where were Rafa's excuses? surely it is a good time to start getting the new signings playing together?
Liverpool have beaten Chelsea in two major semi finals in the last two years, and now with Rafa's new signings building on last season's success, Mourinho is getting scared and looking for excuses.
Time after time he comes out with garbage, fails to acknowledge when the better team has won, and tries to discredit everything anyone else says or does.
Liverpool have been on the up the last couple of seasons, Rafa has cleared out the failures, some of which have been his signings, but at the same time has also built a sound defending system, and has now bolstered the attack and is still looking to improve with the likes of Alves, Pennant, Kuyt being touted as potential signings.
