Leeds succumb to 10-man SwansSat 29 Dec, 07:30 PM

A superb backs-to-the-wall performance by 10-man Swansea saw thembeat Leeds 3-2 at home and move five points clear at the top of LeagueOne.Despite the sending off of Ferrie Bodde in the 37th minute, Swanseaheld on to beat one of their closest promotion rivals in front of thebiggest crowd of the season.
Andy Robinson opened the scoring with a ninth-minute free-kickbut this was quickly cancelled out three minutes later as a poordefensive header from Dennis Lawrence was latched on to by JermaineBeckford who guided the ball home from a narrow angle for his 15th ofthe season.
Swans skipper Garry Monk then restored his side's lead with aclassic header from a Paul Anderson centre in the 23rd minute only forBodde's dismissal to leave the home side up against it.
On the stroke of half-time Jason Scotland gathered the ball onthe halfway line and shrugged off two defenders before firing home togive his side a 3-1 interval lead.
Within 50 seconds of the restart, Alan Thompson flighted afree-kick into the corner of the net to reduce the deficit and thenstruck the woodwork with another free-kick from a similar position.Despite being a man short, the Swans battled magnificently to hold outfor a well deserved victory.

Dimitar Berbatovwould be prepared to leave Tottenham in January's transfer window if abig enough club made an offer, the Bulgarian striker's agent has toldBritish media.

"I have already spoken to the Tottenham chairman, DanielLevy, and told him that if a club that corresponds to Dimitar's classand ambition comes in with an offer that suits his current club inJanuary he would like to be allowed to go," Emil Dantchev told the Sun.
