Penduduk Stapang, Nanga Sekuau di Sibu dilarang berburu 17 hingga 31 Oktober

KUCHING: Penduduk di Stapang dan Nanga Sekuau di Sibu tidak dibenarkan berburu di kawasan berkenaan mulai tengah bulan ini.
Ia berikutan latihan tentera membabitkan Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM) dan Tentera Darat Australia (TDA) akan diadakan di kawasan itu pada 17 hingga 31 Oktober ini.
Jurucakap Sel Perbubungan Raya, Markas 1 Divisyen Infantri Malaysia, berkata Eksesais Haringgaroo Siri 74/2024 itu membabitkan Batalion Ke-3 Rejimen Renjer Diraja (3 RRD) dan Rifle Company Butterworth dari Australia.
"Justeru pengguna jalan raya dan pemilik kawasan ladang, kebun dan penduduk setempat dinasihatkan tidak melakukan sebarang aktiviti pemburuan binatang atau lain-lain aktiviti di kawasan latihan dilaksanakan.
"Langkah itu bagi menjamin keselamatan semua pihak ketika latihan dilaksanakan," katanya dalam kenyataan, hari ini.
Pada 23 September lalu, seorang anggota tentera yang sedang menjalani latihan di kawasan hutan di Song dalam Bahagian Kapit, maut terkena tembakan yang dilepaskan pemburu haram.
Koperal berusia 29 tahun dari 3 RRD itu disahkan meninggal dunia ketika menerima rawatan di Hospital Kapit, pada jam 7.43 pagi.
Sementara itu, Panglima 9 Briged Infantri Malaysia, Brigedier Jeneral Ahmad Norzaini Badrun, berkata objektif utama Eksesais Haringgaroo adalah bagi mengeratkan lagi hubungan TDM dan TDA.
Beliau turut meminta penduduk kampung di kawasan sekitar latihan supaya memberi kerjasama yang baik kepada pasukan tentera yang sedang berlatih.
