Can an unattractive person be a narcissist?
Of course. Although their is an argument to say the less attractive ones tend to be more 'covert' whereas the more attractive ones tend to be more 'overt'. This is because 'covert' narcissists tend to outwardly demonstrate less of a grandiose view of oneself in comparison to the 'overt' narcissists.
This is because ‘covert' narcissists tend to outwardly demonstrate less of a grandiose view of oneself in comparison to the ‘overt' narcissists. The reason is less attractive narcs may find it more difficult to easily gather attention/ praise from others (including strangers). The covert narcissists still have grandiose views of themselves, but since society doesn't really reflect it back to them they keep the delusions to themselves and seek validation of their grandiose ego in more targeted ways, whereas overt narcissists tend to outwardly demonstrate their grandiose ego as they find this is reflected back from society more easily. |
