Selangor hampiri separuh akhir
Oleh NURUL HUDA HASSAN
[email protected]
JOHOR BAHRU - Selangor menghampiri pentas separuh akhir Piala Malaysia selepas menang selesa 3-1 ke atas Johor FC pada perlawanan suku akhir pertama di Stadium Pasir Gudang di sini, malam tadi.
Red Giants bermula garang apabila Bosko Balaban hampir menggegar gawang lawan seawal minit pertama, namun diselamatkan penjaga gol M. Zamir Selamat.
Skuad Merah Kuning ternyata tidak gugup beraksi di depan ribuan penyokong Skuad Lebah yang memenuhi stadium apabila terus mendominasi aksi separuh masa pertama.
Gol pertama pasukan pelawat dihasilkan menerusi sepakan percuma ketua pasukan, Safiq Rahim dari luar kotak penalti pada minit ke-11.
Mohd.

SHAH ALAM, Sept 30 (Bernama) - Selangor Selection ended a drought of three years by lifting the 11th Sultan of Selangor Cup after beating Singapore Selection 3-1 at Shah Alam Stadium Saturday night.
The last time Selangor Selection won the cup was in 2005 after beating Singapore Slection 3-1 at the same venue.
Singapore first opened scoring when Aleksandar Duric beat Selangor goalkeeper Norazlan Razali in the 23rd minute.
Stung by the goal, Selangor reshuffled the frontline and were rewarded when skipper Safiq Rahim equalised in the 32nd minute.
Selangor got the second goal when import player Bosko Balaban scored in the 54th minute.
Mohd Rozaimi Abdul Rahman added to Singapore's misery when he scored Selangor's third goal in the 88th minute.

Selangor hampiri ' Misi 33 '
2012/10/03 - 00:08:11 AM

Irfan calls for cool heads in tense clash with Kelantan
Posted on October 6, 2012
By K. RAJAN
PETALING JAYA : Selangor coach Irfan Bakti had told his men to keep their cool when they face arch rivals Kelantan in the Malaysia Cup semi-finals, first-leg tie at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota Baru today (8.45pm).
There’s no love lost between the two sides as their clashes have always been fiery affairs. Their last meeting – in a Super League match in Kota Baru in June – was marred by several clashes between the players.
Kelantan’s Mohd Ghaddar Mahmoud and Selangor duo Mohd Amri Yahya and Bunyamin Umar were involved in several skirmishes in that match which Kelantan won 1-0.
The trio were later fined and slapped with bans after being found guilty of violent conduct by the FA of Malaysia’s (FAM) Disciplinary Board in August.

Irfan, who is aiming for a healthy advantage to take home for the return leg at the Shah Alam Stadium on Oct 12, wants his men to convert their aggression into goals.
“ This match will be a cagey one and we have to keep our composure … to avoid unnecessary incidents, ” he said.
“ But we still need to be aggressive … we need to channel our aggression in a positive way and score goals for the second leg.
“ The crowd will be behind them but the players must focus on their game.
“ The match is contested among 22 players and they need to concentrate on their football. ”
The Red Warriors, who are aiming for the M-League treble after winning the FA Cup and Super League title, will be seeking to extend their 32-match unbeaten home record in all competitions.
Kelantan coach Bojan Hodak has warned his men to be fully focused for the entire 180 minutes of both legs.
Hodak admitted that their narrow 4-3 aggregate win over Felda United in the quarter-finals has served as an eye-opener for his side.
“ My men underestimated Felda and were too relaxed and almost paid the price for it.
“ We are an experienced side so I’m sure the players have learned their lessons. ”
Kelantan will have centreback S. Subramaniam back from injury but talismanic skipper Mohd Badri Mohd Radzi is still doubtful with an eye infection.
The Red Giants too will have defender Bunyamin back to beef up their backline after serving his one-match suspension.

Selangor on a mission
CHARGED UP: Irfan Bakti looking to snap Kelantan's unbeaten run

SAYING that records are meant to be broken, Selangor coach Irfan Bakti is ready to end Kelantan's unbeaten streak at home this season.
The two teams meet in the Malaysia Cup first-leg semi-final in Kota Baru today.
Despite Selangor's poor away record this season against the FA Cup and Super League champions, Irfan said: "That has got to end and tomorrow (today) is just as good a day as any day to beat Kelantan.
Selangor's last victory over Kelantan at Sultan Mohamad (IV) Stadium was way back in 2002 but Irfan said: "I am only with the Selangor team less than a year."
Irfan is not intimidated by the aggressive Kelantan crowd.
" When I was coaching Terengganu, we had a pretty good record in Kota Baru and I don't see why the same thing can't happen for Selangor, " he said.
The ambitious Irfan even said his team plan to settle the semi-final showdown in the first leg itself.
They must be thinking that we are hoping for a draw in Kota Baru but we are going for a kill just like what Terengganu did to Selangor in the Malaysia Cup semi-finals last season when they won 2-1 away at Shah Alam Stadium.
"We saw how Felda United FC could unsettle them right in their own backyard and I am sure we can do the same thing, if not better, to them," he said.
Irfan said Kelantan may be chasing their treble dream but Selangor are on a bigger mission - to win the Malaysia Cup for the 33rd time.
" Most importantly, we have a score to settle with Kelantan who beat us 1-0 in Kota Baru in the league although we did beat them 2-1 at home earlier in the season.
" Our players Amri (Yahyah) and Bunyamin (Omar) were suspended for three matches because of that match and I am sure they are now motivated to make amends by making sure that their team do not go home empty-handed, " he said.
Though Kelantan have no injury worry except for S. Chanturu, Selangor will also be able to field a potent line-up.
" Except for K. Gurusamy and Asraf (Sayuti) who haven't been playing for a while, we are practically at full strength.
" But the most important thing is we have the momentum with us and we seem to be peaking at the right time in the Malaysia Cup campaign," said Irfan who has yet to get his hands on the oldest and most prestigious trophy in Malaysian football.
Last year, Irfan was denied by Negri Sembilan who beat Terengganu in the final and in 2000, when he was coaching Negri, his team lost in the final to Perak.

Cari bekalan selesa
Oleh YATIMIN ABDULLAH
[email protected]

Badri Mohd.
Peluang terbaik Selangor hadir menerusi rembatan padu penyerang import, Bosko Balaban pada minit ke-44 namun berjaya diselamatkan penjaga gol Kelantan, Khairul Fahmi Che Mat.
Bersambung babak kedua, Selangor terus menggandakan asakan menerusi gandingan Amri Yahyah, Balaban dan kapten, Safiq Rahim tetapi usaha mereka tetap buntu.

Kelantan stay on course for historic treble
Posted on October 13, 2012
By K. RAJAN
SHAH ALAM : High-riding Kelantan stayed on course for an historic treble when they beat Selangor 2-0 in the Malaysia Cup semi-finals, return-leg tie at the Shah Alam Stadium last night.
Kelantan, who won 3-0 on aggregate, will take on Armed Forces in the final at the same venue on Oct 20.
Last night, Kelantan’s Lebanese striker Mohamed Ghaddar Mahmoud and midfielder Mohd Badri Radzi sealed their berth in the final with goals in the 85th and 90th minutes respectively.
To add insult to injury, Selangor’s ineffective striker Bosko Balaban was red-carded for elbowing Obinna Nwaneri in the 87th minute.
Kelantan’s win extinguished Selangor’s dream of winning their 33rd Malaysia Cup. The loss also extended the Red Giants’ title drought for a second consecutive season.

Selangor last won a title when they clinched the Super League in 2010.
The east coast giants, who have bagged the FA Cup and the Super League title, were clearly the better and more dangerous side last night.
Ghaddar, who had two glaring misses earlier in the match, got it right at the third time of asking as he kept his composure to chip the ball past Selangor’s goalkeeper Norazlan Razali for the opener.
Second-half substitute Mohd Badri, who came in two minutes before regulation time, struck with a well-taken free-kick past the outstretched Norazlan in the dying minutes of the game.
But Norazlan deserves praise for keeping the Red Giants alive in the game by pulling off several point blanks shots from Ghaddar and Norshahrul Idlan Talaha in the first-half.
Selangor’s best chance came from Balaban’s volley in the 44th minute but it was palmed away by Kelantan custodian Khairul Fahmi Che Mat.
Kelantan will be playing in their third Malaysia Cup final in four years. They lost to Negri Sembilan in 2009 but exacted revenge in 2010.
The Red Warriors will be the favourites when they take on Premier League champions Armed Forces in the final. On Thursday, the soldiers defeated Lions XII 5-4 in sudden-death shootout after both teams were tied 2-2 on aggregate in the other semi-final.
