EP 8
spoiler
After a brief flashback of the conflict of Mizuki leaving, the episode starts with the series heroine running to the mailbox. As she drops a letter to her father inside it, she prays, catching the attention of a passing individual who tells her that the mailbox isn't a shrine. She ignores the comment, greets the person while running off and soon meets up with Nakatsu. Running up to him, she taps his shoulder and greets him good morning. He stops, clearly with a lot on his mind and when she asks what's wrong, he tells her that he's glad she decided to stay. There's a brief silence before Mizuki tells him that it was all thanks to him. The surprised boy spits out the water he happened to be drinking, stuttering through speech. There's another silence between them before Nakatsu stumbles over to her and reminds her of what he said the night before about him needing her. She remembers and replies that she needs him too and again the suprised boy spits out water. His mind begins to race and he stutters some more, trying to comprehend some deeper meaning behind what she said. He finally pulls himself together and seriously comments that she already knew then and that he didn't have to say anything. He's just about to admit his feelings when Mizuki interrupts him saying that they're friends. Of course that's not what he meant but she goes on to say that she also believes that they're really great friends and leaves Nakatsu speechless. After some thinking aloud to himself, he comes to the conclusion that Mizuki is probably as dense as they come and rushes after her.
With the break over, the students are as restless as ever and the classrooms are filled with hustle and bustle. Random activity ensues and Mizuki and Nakatsu enter, arms wrapped around each other's shoulders. The act goes unnoticed save by Sano, who immediately pinpoints Nakatsu's hand on her shoulder. Mizuki rushes over to him and greets him. He ignores her at first, apparently immursed in whatever magazine he's reading and Mizuki remarkes his cold behavior. He tries to play off his behavior but then changes to subject, telling Mizuki to not walk around with some guy's arm around her shoulders. He also says that she should pay attention to her surroundings before engaging in such actions. Mizuki replies, telling him that since they're friends, it's perfectly okay. They argue some more and finally Mizuki leans in and asks if Sano's on his period. Sano freaks out and Mizuki laughs, saying that she was joking and then sits down at her desk as the teacher walks in. As the teacher makes his welcome back speech, Mizuki remembers the events of the night before and whispers thank you to Sano.
With classes beginning, Akiha rides around the campus making an announcement. Soon she is met by Umeda who stops in the middle of the road and asks her what she's doing. The truck she is riding in the back of continues to push forward and she warns him to move out of the way. He continues talking, ignoring the fact and they collide. Akiha jumps out of the truck and desperately looks around for any sign of the doctor. She looks up and is relieved to see him alive and he hits her on the head with his fan and sarcastically remarks that he could not get run over. He again asks her what she's doing and she replies that she's doing her job. He reminds her that since she took a picture of Sano jumping and became recognized in the photography world, she no longer has a reason to hang around the campus. She tells him that that is no longer possible and shows him a paper from the magazine An An. She then asks him for his help but he refuses and finally sees the skidmark on this side of his face.
Later, members from all three dorms gather in the cafeteria having appearantly been called there by Akiha. Nanba asks what they're doing here and Akiha begins to explain that she had gotten a job with An An. The magazine seems to be popular and Sekime explains the magazine. Akiha concludes with announcing what she had come here to do: to choose models and take their pictures for the magazine. Of course the Osaka Gakuen boys are excited about this chance to fame and excitement rings out among them. However, Akiha tells them that the photoshoot will not be of all of them, instead, it'll feature just four. The excitement of before changes to disappointment and the boys desperatly try to show off their good points. This was all in vain however, since the camera woman had already picked the four she wanted. She announces the first person to be Nanba Minami, the second as Nakatsu Shuichi, the third as Sano Izumi (who says that he doesn't plan on doing it) and the fourth as Ashiya Mizuki. Nakatsu congratulates her and puts his arm around her shoulders only for Sano to rush over and pull her away. He asks her if she plans on doing the shoot and she tells him of course, hoping to have some cool pictures of her taken. Sano tells that if she decides to model, she won't know what she'll be forced into. When she argues against him, he tells her that he didn't mean the clothes she would wear but nude pictures. Before she has a chance to argue further, Akiha asks if anyone is interested in replacing Sano. Sano desperatly raises his hand and announces that he has reconsidered, much to Akiha's delight.
The next morning, Sano goes to wake up Mizuki when he finds her shirt raised just above her belly button. He leans over to pull it down when into the room comes Nakatsu. Sano quickly kicks her blankets back on top of her and acts as if he was just about to wake her up. He smacks her on the forehead and she shoots up, clutching it in pain.
The rest of the school, being not involved with the photoshoot, are called down into the cafeteria by the vice principal. He tells them that in a week, the principal intends to meet with each of them individually. This takes the boys by surprise as nothing like this has happened before and they ask what the meeting would be about. Saruatari tells them that he cannot tell them at this time and leaves, leaving the boys dumbfounded.
Meanwhile, Mizuki, Sano, Nakatsu and Nanba arrive at Akiha's studio for the photoshoot. As she gets ready for the shoot, the rest explore and Nakatsu pulls a very old english style shirt off of a clothes rack. He gets Mizuki's attention who also comes over and pulls off a dress. As she looks at it, Nakatsu walks toward her, holding up the shirt he pulled against him and calls her Juliet. Mizuki responds by putting the dress up to her and calling him Romeo and asking him why he's Romeo (reference to him being a Montague while Juliet's a Capulet). Nakatsu comes closer and tells her that he would be happy to tell her why when Sano comes and pushes Nakatsu's face away from Mizuki. He tells her that Juliet is a girl and Mizuki jokingly replies that she knows that. Before another argument can ensue, Akiha calls them over and Sano pushes Mizuki after her. Nakatsu, still holding the shirt up to himself, desperatly calls after his Juliet. As his cries get more and more desperate, Nanba smacks him and tells the Romeo to calm down.
The room Akiha leads them into is a wardrobe room where she tells them to pick out whatever they like. As they look through, Nakatsu picks out a pink frilled shirt and shows it to Mizuki. She takes it and holds up it to the mirror and exclaims that it might be perfect however Sano appears and hands her a button down black shirt telling her to wear that instead. She complains that it's too plain but he takes the pink shirt and shoves the black one into her hands. Nakatsu rushes over and tells him that Mizuki obviously likes the pink one but Sano insists that she likes the black one better. After some more arguing, Nanba walks in and tells them to hurry up and decide.
Soon the outfits are decided and Nanba is getting ready for his shoot. Akiha asserts her position and issues commands to him. At first Akiha's methods seem strange and unorthodox but soon Nanba begins to loosen up. Mizuki and Nakatsu comment on how Nanba seems so much different than usual and soon it's Mizuki's turn (she's wearing the outfit Sano picked). After some loosening up, Akiha tells Mizuki to imagine the person she likes and automatically, Mizuki leans to look at Sano who is playing with one of the manniquens. Nakatsu, sitting in front of where Sano was, thinks Mizuki's looking at him. He confirms his position as the person Mizuki likes to himself. Akiha asks Mizuki to say that person's name outloud and Mizuki refuses. Nakatsu tells her to go ahead and say it, but Mizuki still refuses. Eventually Akiha tells him to be quiet and they start with the shoot. After some standing pictures, Akiha tells her to sit on the couch for a sitting shoot. Nakatsu begs the camera woman to let him take pictures with Mizuki and she reluctantly okays it.
Back at the school, Oscar and the rest of Dorm 3 sneak up to the pricipal's office to eavesdrop. Using hand signals, they talk about how strange it is for the principal to want to converse with each of them individually. They finally hear Saruatari's voice and they crowd around the door to listen. The vice principal is on the phone with the principal and he assures her that he told everyone about the meeting like she wanted him to. He also mentions something about getting rid of the bad ones and only leaving the good ones. This information takes Oscar and company by surprise and they quickly go off to tell the rest of the school. |

It is now Sano's turn but after seeing Nakatsu and Mizuki together, doesn't seem very into it. Akiha asks him if he thinks this whole thing is stupid and a waste of time. He says no but as the conversation continues, he moves to leave. Akiha calls him a coward and he stops. There's a pause and he turns and walks back to the shoot. He ruffles his hair and tells her to hurry up and start. His messy hair an leering expression quickly becomes the image of coolness to Mizuki and Akiha.
As Sano's shoot takes place, Oscar, with the use of hand signals and Kayashima's interpretation, tells everyone what he had heard. As they try to think why the principal would do such a thing, one of the dorm 1 members brings up a rumor that the school could close down. They soon discover that dorm 3 hadn't payed any of the fees and they all break into song. During the musical number, Tennouji asks Oscar what would happen if the school did close down. Oscar replies that they would probably all be sent to different school around the globe. This settles it and the different dorms leave to set a course of action, but Dorm 2, without their head, are at a loss of what to do.
With the photoshoot over, the four leave the studio and head back to school. Sano lingers behind and Nakatsu walks with him, asking why he decided to stop Mizuki that night. Sano says that there was no reason but Nakatsu is not convinced. He steps in front of the high jumper and asks him if he has the ability to let a man into his life. Before Sano can answer, Nakatsu continues saying that he does have that ability. When he goes to ask Sano again, Sano disappears, already caught up to Nanba and Mizuki.
Meanwhile the different dorms practice for the upcoming meeting with the principal. The dorm 1 members, starting with Tennouji practice holding back their temper in a mock meeting. With the help of his fiancee Kanna, Tennouji manages to suppress his anger until finally he breaks. The dorm 3 members, starting with Oscar, practice a dance routine sure to impress. His routine is interrupted by Hibari who gives him help and the two dance together. During this, Sano, Mizuki, Nakatsu and Nanba arrive back at the school and head to the cafeteria. Mizuki complains about the heat to herself and takes off her overshirt. Sano tells her to put it back on and she does so reluctantly, mentioning how much he's changed lately. He replies saying that it's only because she doesn't pay attention to her surroundings and Mizuki concludes that he's acting like her dad. When they finally reach the cafeteria, the dorm 2 members attack their dorm head as he walks in and after he asks what's going on, they tell him what they've heard.
Later, Akiha appears in Umeda's office with the An An magazine. When he refuses to look at it, she threatens him with a kiss which immediately puts him to action. Akiha is clearly glad about her work but Umeda is unimpressed. Instead he tells her that he likes her other pictures better. Trying not to be caught on what he said, she brushes him off and grabs her magazine and leaves. As she closes the door though, she looks back at the picture in the magazine.
Dorm 2 finally rushes into action and try to raise money to keep the school open. Mizuki and Nakatsu, working together to raise money, run into Kagurazaka. Nakatsu goes on the offensive but Mizuki comes to Kagurazaka's defense, telling Nakatsu that he's in fact a nice guy. Nakatsu remains unconvinced and says that if Kagurazaka is really a nice guy, he would be upset that the school is closing down and that he would donate to help keep it open. Much to Nakatsu's surprise, Kagurazaka does. Suddenly, a group of girls run up to Mizuki and ask for her to autograph her picture in the magazine. Mizuki agrees but first has them sign a petition. However, the magazine peeks Kagurazaka's interest and he asks Nakatsu what all the hustle and bustle was about. Nakatsu tell him about the photoshoot including the fact that Sano was in it too. Needless to say, Kagurazaka was intrigued.
That afternoon, Nakatsu and Mizuki walk back, still not able to believe that the school is going to be closed down. Mizuki admits that she doesn't want the school to close down because she just now started to get along with everyone. She also tells him that if they were all separated, she wouldn't be able to tell him her feelings like she's doing now. Nakatsu agrees that it would be upsetting and redoubles his efforts. As they begin to make rounds again, Mizuki sees Mio and together they go to talk. Mio tells Mizuki that it doesn't matter if the school closes down because the friendship's made there aren't going to end because of that, what's more important is the feeling of wanting to be with everyone. Mio also tells her that whatever happens, she'll always be Mizuki's ally. |

At the end of the day, dorm 2 meet to count the money they raised, but their earnings turn out to be much, much less than they hoped for. Dorm 1 is still practicing anger managment and dorm 3, their dance routine. Sano finally returns from practice and heads to his room, followed by Nakatsu. Nakatsu asks for Sano's help in saving the school but Sano ignores him. He finally accuses Sano of not caring about the school and that he would not forgive him if that was how he felt. He continues to tell him that the only reason no one says anything to him is because Mizuki works hard to pull both of their weight. The atmosphere becomes heavy and Mizuki enters. The two boys go their separate ways, Nakatsu out the door and Sano into the shower, leaving Mizuki alone and confused. They go to sleep that night in silence.
The next day, Mizuki enters the cafeteria and is surrounded by comments of how lucky she was to take part in the photo shoot. Their comments give her an idea and she quickly tells Sekime to gather everyone before rushing out. She finally reappears with none other than the camera woman, Akiha and announces that they should all take a picture together. The different dorms are unimpressed and try to leave, but Mizuki convinces them to stay. Soon everyone is pumped for the picture and Mizuki runs off to get Sano. At first Sano refuses to participate but even he's a sucker for Mizuki's speeches and ends up coming with her. No one can believe Sano actually came and they take their places for the picture. Umeda appears and Akiha agrees that taking these kinds of pictures suit her more than those studio professional ones. After one serious picture, she orders them all to loosen up and the room suddenly erupts into the normal chaos. Akiha continues taking pictures of everyone in their natural setting and everyone also seems to be enjoying themselves. Umeda delivers the pictures to Saruatari. Suddenly the phone rings and Saruatari tells the principal that the individual meetings are no longer necessary since the students seem to be enjoying themselves and love their school.
The students find out that what they had overheard was a conversation about coffee beans and decide to celebrate their school not being closed down. The class joins in a Banzai while Nakatsu goes over to Sano and confesses to him that he likes Mizuki. As he walks away, he turns and tells Sano that he won lose to him and then joins Mizuki and the class in their celebration.

The periodical exams are approaching and far from matters of studying, everyone's head is full of the Ohsaka Gakuen Live to come after the exams. Everyone is practing hard for the program. While Mizuki is studying with Nakatsu inside the room, Sano comes back. Mizuki asks Sano, who is working hard in high jumping same as ever, if he will do alright for the test. In really, Sano's grades are actually excellent. On the contrary, Sano ends up teaching Mizuki and Nakatsu.
The next day, finally, the test begins. Kitahama walks around monitoring the students as they desperately fill in the answers. Then, he finds something on Nakatsu's desk. Underneath Nakatsu's answer sheet is another sheet of paper. Nakatsu takes the test seemingly lost but Kitahama concludes that he is only being cunning. After the test, Nakatsu is called by Kitahama. |
