Joaqu韓 Hoping For Spain Recall Against England
The Valencia man is hopeful that he can wear the red of Spain again against England...
alencia midfielder, Joaqu韓, has said today that he is hoping to regain a spot in the Spain squad when they take on England this month.
The former Real Betis man has been out of the side since November 2007, and admitted that he does not know why he was left out, but he hopes to get back in now.
"At the time when I was taken out, I was in a good run of form, and the coach counted on me...The truth is that I do not understand the motives," he told Marca.
"If I return, I would be speechless and it would be special, but I am relaxed and I try not to think about it. I will give a kiss to my wife and my daughter because they are the first to suffer the bad with me, and also the good."
Whatever the past though, Joaqu韓 has certainly found his best form since not playing for Spain, and is becoming one of the most important players at Valencia.
For this reason it would not be a surprise to see him picked in the squad to face England, although after the success of the side last year, he knows it will be tough.
"Now is a new time and it is difficult to come in because there is a lot of quality, but the hope and desire are never lost," he mused.
"Everyone wants to beat Spain, not just because they are champions of Europe, but because they are a good team."
