Defoe 'in talks with Villa' says local source
Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe has held talks with Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill regarding a move to the midlands club according to the Birmingham Post.
The unsettled Defoe, who has been told by Spurs coach Juande Ramos that he is prepared to let him leave White Hart Lane, is reported to have spoken with O'Neill at Villa's Bodymoor Heath training ground on Wednesday.

Villa target Arsenal upset
GARETH BARRY has warned Arsenal that Aston Villa are ready to put another dent in their title dreams.
The Villa skipper will lead his side out at the Emirates looking to pull off a shock against Arsene Wenger's side.
The Gunners were held to a 2-2 draw at Birmingham on Saturday to help Manchester United cut their advantage at the top.
And Barry says Villa, who are chasing a Champions League spot, are now eyeing a shock win.
He said: "We're going there with nothing to lose, while they're under a bit of pressure now.
"They slipped up at Birmingham and it will all be on them to try and break us down, because the top of the league is getting very tight.
"We're enjoying life and go there with lots of confidence."
