RED 2 was a dream for Korean actor

Source: Belfast Telegraph l Nate

GI Joe: Retaliation star Lee Byung-hun has revealed that starring in Red 2 is a dream come true.

The South Korean actor, who stars in the action-packed sequel opposite Bruce Willis, Dame Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and Sir Anthony Hopkins, said that he is portraying an assassin.

"My character is Han, who used to be an agent like Bruce Willis and John Malkovich, but Bruce framed him so he can't work as an agent any more. So he became a killer," he teased.

The 42-year-old added: "It was a lot of fun. The cast of Red 2 is a dream cast, so it was a really amazing moment for me."

Lee, who stars as Storm Shadow in GI Joe: Retaliation, said Bruce wasn't as intimidating as he initially expected.

"He's a well-known action star and so people would think he is so tough and rough. But in real life, he is so gentle and generous. When I first heard Bruce was cast in this movie, I was so excited," he recalled.

"But when I first met him in front of the make-up trailer, he bowed to me in the Asian way (of greeting). It was quite impressive and that made me relax."

Catherine Zeta-Jones, Mary-Louise Parker and David Thewlis also star in Red 2, which will open in cinemas in July.
