AirAsia to fly Indian route in December: CEO


Malaysia-basedAirAsia, the largest budget airline in Asia, will begin flights toIndia from December 1, its chief executive officer Tony Fernandes saidMonday.

He said it will begin flying into the southern city of Thiruchi before spreading to nine other locations   
"Ianticipate very high load factor for this flight. (Probably) about 90percent from the first week, which should probably be the strongestroute we have ever done," Fernandes said, according to Malaysia's stateBernama news agency.

He said the carrier expected the hugegrowth in Indian tourist arrivals to contribute to its new route andwill spend up to 7 million ringgit (2 million dollars) for newinfrastructure in Thiruchi.

The carrier aims to offer servicesinto other cities including Madras, Cochin, Madurai and Kovaibutore,within the next one-and-a-half years.

Its long-haul arm, AirAsia X will be looking to fly to New Delhi, Mumbai and Hydrabad, Fernandes said.   
Bookingfor the Thiruchi flights will begin on Thursday with an offer price of49 ringgit (13.50 dollars) as part of the launch. The average price fora one-way ticket will be 200 ringgit.

AirAsia will be using 10 of its Airbus A320 single-aisle planes for the Indian flights.

Malaysia's AirAsia X upbeat on future despite economic turmoil

AirAsia X currently operates with just one A330-300, which carriesout four return flights a week between Kuala Lumpur and Australia'sGold Coast, as well as to China's Hangzhou.
The airline plansto offer six return flights per week between Perth and Kuala Lumpurstarting November 2 and to service Melbourne from November 12.


AirAsia X is also expected to fly to Britain in the first quarter of 2009.

Tingin sgt nak gi India.. camner plak la AA ni dapat kat Trichy. Chennai ke Delhi ke Mumbai ke best la sket.. takpe at least jejak gak memula nih.

Ntah celah mana plak la kat Britain.

yg kat UK sure airport yg kurang glamer jugak kot, nak yg bleh kowtim tax murah gak. tak kisah la tuh dah namanya low cost carrier. jgn tak buat lansung dah

destinasi to india tu later on dia akan pegi tpt lain gak kan?
rasanya dlm press release ada sebut akan pegi a few other places kat india gak nanti....
mcm ke australia dulu lah...
first detination gold coast jah...
skang dah ada ke melbourne and perth.

katanya AirAsia X sekarang pegi gold coast jek. and untuk bulan depan, AirAsia X akan ke melbourne plak.
cecco dah beli tiket untuk ke melbourne tahun depan (for Air Asia), adakah cecco akan dapat AirAsia X punye ?

depends  on time kau beli ler...
member aku ada beli masa promo hari tu dpt RM1k++ jerk...
skang aku check utk travel tgh tahun depan paling murah about 1.6K
in short tunggu jer time promo RM0 seats ke hapa utk dpt tiket paling murah...

just now aku check MAS flight to phuket in march 2009, masih ada yg promo RM0seat, bayar tax RM325 jerk...
tempted to buy tapi since haku dah beli tiket ke jakarta mcm over la pulak almost every month nak travel
terpaksa lupa kan phuket, at least for the time being.

GCoast, hangzou melbourne n perth..
sempena setahun AAX terbang..
esok baru start utk public..tak tau bapa byk yg tinggal utk publc ni
