남성 5인조 아이돌그룹인 비스트(BEAST)는 내년1월5일 서울 광장동 악스홀에서 팬미팅 개념의 쇼케이스를 개최한다. 비스트에 열렬한 사랑을 보내 준 팬들에 대한 보답 차원에서 펼쳐지는 이번 공연은 당초 500석 규모로 계획됐으나 5,000명이 넘는 팬들이 단숨에 신청해와 소속사를 당황케하고 있다. 이에 따라 소속사 큐브엔터테인먼트는 계획을 변경해 3,000석 규모 공연을 펼치는 것을 논의 중이다.

3,000 석 규모는 왠만한 대형콘서트에 버금가는 규모다. 이름만 쇼케이스일 뿐 콘서트나 다름없는 상황이 벌어진 것. 차세대 아이돌 선두주자로 꼽히는 비스트의 유명세를 느끼게 해주는 대목이다. 이미 가요 관계자들과 가요 팬 사이에선 2010년을 빛낼 신예 아이돌로 비스트를 꼽기를 주저하지 않고 있다.

소속사 관계자는 "팬 500명과 함께하는 조촐한 자리를 마련하려 했으나 신청 폭주로 소속사도 매우 난감해했다"며 "이에 계획을 바꿔 더 많은 팬들과 함께 할 수 있는 자리를 만들 생각이다"고 전했다.

한편 10월 첫 앨범을 발표한 비스트는 타이틀곡 '배드걸'에 이어 후속곡 '미스터리'로 활발히 활동 중이다.

A company representative said, "We were planning on holding the fan meeting in a venue for 500 people, but the explosive response left even the company not knowing what to do. After seeing the response, we believe we'll change to a bigger venue so that BEAST can be with more fans."
