agreed, yg membezakan adalah org yg belajar tu..
tapi sekolah juga memainkan peranan yg penting..
kalau pelajar boleh adapt dgn style baru tu, its an advantange to them..
as for pare ...
btl..klu diiktkn environment dan sistem pembelajaran SBP adalah yg terbaik..
pelajar2 dan guru2 terdiri dr best among the best..
kt sini la advantage dikelilingi org bijak pndai scra xlgsung performance study leh maintain..
sbb tu ramai yg yakin kecermelangan ank pasti terjamin jika msk boarding school ni..
ttp ade je "produk gagal" keluaran SBP cma percentage sgt kecil..
pada sya zaman boarding school dolu2 brbanding skrg amat berbeza..
kna bsh bju senior@runner amik sarapan kira perkara biasa..
kna belasah, tiup lmpu smp padam, lompat bintang, jln itik, pusing donia antara ragging yg biasa kita dngar..
mse tu xde rasa dendam@xpuas ati wlaupn slh roomate..(sbnrnye yg ni wat kita berdikari,tabah,berdisiplin)..
la ni dh berkurangan n mgkin dh xde..
i think deep in ur doter she is fragile person although u said she tough among sibling..mybe la u know her best maa..
blh je puan nk ksi semangat..itu yg sepatutnya..nk visit every week trpulang la..dekat xpe la..
parent sya dulu 2x shja jejak kaki selama 5thn kt sna..mgkn jauh @ tau sy xksh..
cte la kisah2 pengalaman best forumer kt sini mse dok boarding school dolu2..
sy rse mula2 je xska nnti dh besa dia lak xbagi dtg tiap2 mnggu..
p/s sori klu xmmbntu... |

10% of asians pun highly doubtful akan excel sedemikian rupa...
we cannot say 10% asians, coz china's number will tip the scale. however i have met many malaysians that have invented and marketed stuff(real stuff) and those yg i mentioned are real ppl. well respected overseas. many of these ppl unfortunately live overseas, sbb underappreciated here. the author of the article i qouted, M. bakri musa is chief of staff of a surgical dept in california! that's amazing, anak omputeh belum tentu boleh.
it is what you do with the As that really matter. Vanajah tu if not because female, dah jadik pompuan mesia pertama in space, btw, she has had a job offer from the soviets (space programe) since last year.
singaporeans are at the forefront in molecular biology. jgn heran if nobel laureatte comes from there soon. they are trying very hard. never discount asians. |

yeah..
kalau tadi 50/50, sekarang aku rasa buat permulaan aku akan visit dia every wiken, insya'allah..
just to support her morally & hopefully dia nak naik lemak la pulak..
sayu b ...
i guess different child has different needs, so the frequency of visits pun differ. my parents dulu visit every 2 weeks, w'pun dekat. this was to get me to adjust on my own terms.
on the other hand, my fren hated her mum for not visiting every week. my fren's big sister held a grudge until today coz the mum visit every 2 weeks instead of every week...that's a 40 year grudge, and they were never close.
my other fren, visit sampai i rasa lebih baik tak payah skolah asrama coz makanan pun mak dia antar everyday, gurubesar terpaksa allow, dia mogok lapar sampai sakit2. |

fara,
prep malam tu time i tidur, i habiskan homework petang. balik dorm kul sepuluh, isyak jemaah wajib kat surau ramai2, sometimes senior sambung usrah sampai midnite. i really tak tahan mata, kat umah bedtime set at 9pm. i ingat lagik satu senior ni marah2 kat i, bedtime 9pm macam mana nak pandai? hmm...kalau tidor kat kelas pun tak pandai gak. last2 kitaorg wat dajal, takder senior sanggup jaga our class masa prep malam...zzzzzz in peace. itulah, i jadik samseng besar since then...tapi i miss semayang jemaah esp tarawikh. |

no worries raven, ur daughter will survive life in hostel.
im also coming from sbp. having 5yrs in school (and sometimes pk mcm dah half of my life in school) really makes me independent bila keluar sekolah. just give sometimes to ur daughter to adjust. frankly speaking, mostly budak2 from kl, y me jumpa, ada y payah nak adjust. mayb sbb dah biasa dgn lifestyle kat kl. mcm2 ada kan? But,once dia dah dpt hook up dgn cara boarding school, ull be amazed dgn independent dia and how shell managed her life. |

always remember, excellent school = excellent results
sori sis kikilalat...not agree with u..
ramai dah org berjaya kt sklh besa je..xpyh pn SBP
IMHO suma sklh sma je..yg mmbezakn adalah org ...
mmg lah betul... kalo masuk Sri Aman, BBGS pun okay gak... banyak excellent government funded day schools kat Malaysia.
tapi when we consider the school as a whole, tak semesti nyer sumer orang akan dapat excellent results... sebab entrance to these day schools takder saringan...
satu lagik, kalo tak masuk excellent school, tapi kalo pelajar tuh sendiri dah excellent.... memang akan berjaya tak kisah ko campak ke mana pun...
true, ader banyak factors yg boleh pengaruhi... tapi kalo anak raven dah dapat excellent school, why nak kuarkan dia just because dia tak bley adapt masa memuler nih? kena ler positif... kasik semangat kat anak dia tuh... cakap yg sekolah dia sekolah excellent... bley kawan2 dgn budak2 excellent... our peers pun penting gak dalam our studies... cikgu buat kelas tambahan lagik...
masa batch aku dulu, SPM results kitaorang ialah the best in Malaysia... tu sebab ler aku cakap excellent school will get excellent results. berdasarkan pengalaman aku...
tu my 2 cents jer... |

me & hubby belaja kat boarding school...
didn't intend to send our kids to boarding school unless they really ask for it...
back to yr Q, bagi dia time frame at least 3 bulan, homesick & culture shock will subside then....kalau tak hilang lagi, u better bawak dia keluar.... |

anak sitislam pun baru jer masuk sekolah berasrama..masa belum masuk ..memang tak sabar anak siti nak masuk...lepas dah masuk masuk tu..tak sampai 3 hari kat asrama dah menangis nak balik...minggu pertama warden kasi balik..so sitislam ambil..tgk muka cengkung sebab tak cukup tidur sebab masa orientasi kena tidur kul 12++ dan bangun antara 4.30-5 pg...ini minggu kedua pun anak nak suruh ambil..adoii...letih dibuatnya.anak nak cakap tak mau sekolah tu tak berani sebab dia yang beriya-iya sangat nak duduk sek berasrama.
tapi yang sitislam suka ialah perubahan yang dialami..dimana suara tak mininggi cam dulu, kurang bergaduh ngan adik-adik..sitislam suruh sekali, dah bangun tanpa byk bunyi dan makan pun tak gelojoh cam dulu. |

Kalo aku..depends kat anak2 la nak sekolah biasa..atau dok hostel.
zaman dulu2 ye la..budak2 boarding school je yg selalu dapat good results
tapi zaman sekarang budak2 sekolah biasa pon excellent.
kalo ur daughter insist sgt nak ke sekolah lama dia..pada aku boleh je..
tapi kena make sure dia x boleh main2...kena study hard & dpt good results. |
