Manchester United 3-0 Liverpool MANCHESTER UNITED FORUM
Van der Sar - Should have brought his deckchair to this one. Almost created a goal for Rooney with clever kicking 6
Evra - Spent a lot of his time in the Liverpool half as there wasn't much defending to do, added depth to the attack 7
Ferdinand - Relaxed, solid performance alongside Vidic ensured Torres never got a sniff in front of goal 8
Vidic - Reliable as ever, him and Rio look like they can stop anyone. 8
Brown - Did brilliantly to get forward and head the ball past Pepe Reina to begin the rout 8
Ronaldo - Could have scored 3 in this game, but still chipped in with a tidy header from Nani's corner 7
Anderson - Dominated Gerrard again in the center of the pitch, certainly a big game player unaffected by nerves 8
Scholes - Seems to have become the master of passing sideways in recent weeks, although did open up the Liverpool defence a couple of times with moments of genius 8
Carrick - United's midfield trio passed Liverpool into submission and Carrick played a key role 7
Giggs - Should be making way for Nani shortly, seems to be giving the ball away quite a lot 5
Rooney - Should have had a couple of goals today, but his overall play is exemplary and makes the team tick 7
Nani (for Anderson, 73) - Brilliant performance from the substitute, bagging his 13th assist and his 4th goal with a great finish into the bottom corner 9
Tevez (for Giggs, 73) - Should have scored within seconds of coming on, his movement caused untold problems for the Liverpool defence 7 |

Liverpool could've sign Man Utd's Ronaldo for 4M
![](http://www.tribalfootball.com/images2/spacer.gif)
In his recent autobiography, 'Stand Up Pinocchio', former Liverpool assistant boss Phil Thompson revealed how Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo could so easily have ended up at Anfield - for just 4 million. |
"Yes, he was good," Thompson wrote. "Portugal had two starlets, [Ricardo] Quaresma and Ronaldo, who played right and left wing for their under-21s. I watched them play and both were very good. It was a toss-up as to who was the best.
"I was invited to watch Sporting play Porto in the last game of their season. Tony Henry, the former Manchester City player and an agent with Paul Stretford's ProActive agency, was on the phone on a regular basis to see if we would take Ronaldo and asking if he could take us to watch him. I met Tony at the airport and travelled to Oporto. I met the player's Portuguese agent before watching the game. "Ronaldo was quite good, but not as impressive as the first time I saw him. Tony was pushing the boy and saying he was a talent. He was saying, 'He'll only cost |
