[Spot] ‘Bad Women’ Song Jae-rim to transform as attractive kumdo master!
The briefing of KBS 2TV’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Bad Women’ was held on February 23rd at Imperial Palace Hotel in Nonhyundong, Gangnamgu, Seoul. The cast Kim Hye-ja, Chae Si-ra, Do Ji-won, Lee Ha-na, Kim Ji-seok, Song Jae-rim and the production staffs gathered together for the presentation. KBS’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Bad Women’ is going to tell a story of love, hatred and relationships of passionate women of three generations of the family, pursuing the true meaning of life.
Song Jae-rim was cast to play the role of Lee Ru-oh, a kumdo(a.k.a kendo or Japanese fencing) master with a degree in Physical Education. “My job is a kumdo master. He is a 29 year-old man with passion yet tender characters. He becomes engaged in big and small incidents as he meets Jung Ma-ri(Lee Ha-na). You might as well expect to meet Lee Ru-oh and find out his charms in the drama,” said Song.
Song was said to perform as a fencer of the fifth grade in the drama. “I heard it takes more than 10 years to achieve such high grade. Anyway, I have that grade in the drama. I found out that kumdo is a very attractive sport, even though I have done it for the first time through this drama. I think it may as well be a good sport for females who want to lose weight or keep mentally and physically fit,” Song complemented about the martial art of Asia.
It is said that fencers wear no underwear when doing kumdo. “It’s called ‘Kikumchae-ilchi(ki-ken-tai-ichi in Japanese), meaning that your body, soul and the sword have to become one. But not me. I do wear underwear,” He smiled. Meanwhile, Song Jae-rim was seen with a small notebook and pen during the whole interview.
“I have seen Director Pyo Min-su writing down all the questions he has received from the reporters, and I thought I should do the same,” said Song. “By writing down all the useful notes and answers, you can never miss the important things. It was kind of a benchmark.” He seemed to have the potential to become a successful actor.
Song was cast to play an important role in a romance of the drama. “If the senior actors of our drama are a big, main stem of the plant, we(young, new actors) are small ones. I don’t care about making many appearances. I have received scripts up to the sixth episode so far, and am waiting for the eighth and ninth. That’s all I care about. I just try to think that each day is just a new day for shooting.” He showed his ambitions. ‘Bad Women’ will premiere on February 25th on KBS 2TV.
