Premier League Player Ratings: Manchester United 2-2 Sunderland
MANCHESTER UNITED
Foster - 3 - Terrible again. Should have dominated Jones in the air for his goal, couldn't kick straight and there seems to be no communication with his defenders. Van der Sar's hand can't heal quickly enough.
O'Shea - 6 - Great spot to pick out Berbatov for his goal and a steady presence throughout.
Vidic - 5 - Another tough game for the Serb. He hasn't kicked in to gear yet, and was regularly out jumped by Jones and out foxed by Bent.
Jonathan Evans - 5 - Was better than his centre back partner defensively, but his constant use of long balls up top added to United's aimless display.
Evra - 7 - The ever reliable full back kept his head while all those around him were losing their's. Excellent blast in to the box for the leveller.
Nani - 4 - His weekly competition with Foster for the worst performer award continued. Rarely found a team mate when in possession; his Old Trafford career seems to be going down the pan.
Fletcher - 5 - Set nothing like the standard we've come to expect. Ran around like a headless chicken all evening and was subbed for Carrick.
Scholes - 4 - Hooked for Anderson at half time after, arguably, his worst display for the club. He misplaced as many passes in 45 minutes as he has done in his entire career.
Welbeck - 5 - This start might have come too soon for him, but in patches he showed he could cut it at the top in the future. Not helped by the fact he is a natural centre forward.
Rooney - 5 - The 'Rooney rage' of old reared its head as nothing came off for him all night. Tried to do too much on his own and often ran in to cul-de-sacs where even his talent wasn't enough to pave the way forward.
Berbatov - 8 - Could have been awarded the score for his outrageous overhead kick alone. Was otherwise impressive amongst the mediocrity around him as he, at least, was able to find other players wearing red.
Substitutes
Anderson - 7 - His energy and passing was a massive improvement on what was offered by Scholes. Must be close to edging the veteran out as first pick.
Carrick - n/a
Valencia - 5 - Didn't add anything to the United fight back when brought on. Is struggling to get to grips with life at the top
SUNDERLAND
Gordon - 6 - Surprisingly quiet game for the Scot. Couldn't do anything for the goals and gave confidence to his back line, unlike his opposite number.
Bardsley - 7 - As tenacious as usual, Bardsley swatted away the challenges of Welbeck and Nani. The former United starlet excelled on his return to Old Trafford.
Turner - 8 - Kept it simple and used his height to head away all the pointless long balls United played. Would have impressed the watching Fabio Capello.
Ferdinand - 6 - Terribly unlucky to deflect home United's second goal. Was otherwise solid.
Richardson - 3 - Earned himself a ridiculous red card with a second booking for time wasting. Helped to cost his team a deserved win.
Malbranque - 7 - Battled hard with Evra to dominate their flank. His silky skills and vision are unquestionable, and he seems to have gained a few extra gears under Bruce's tutelage.
Cana - 8 - His experience of challenging at the top with Marseille has added an experienced edge to Sunderland's midfield. His partnership with Cattermole is the platform that Bruce's team is built upon. A quality player.
Cattermole - 7 - The 'rough and ready' North East lad brought the fight to Old Trafford, and helped his team boss the midfield area. A promising youngster who continues to impress in the Sunderland shirt.
Reid - 8 - One of the most improved players in the league. Played a wonderful pass to set up Jones and was untouchable throughout. His gruelling pre-season regime has paid off in style.
Bent - 8 - Tremendous snap finish for the opening goal exhibited everything Bent is about. He is a natural scorer and a brilliant addition to the Sunderland squad. Should expect good news from Capello.
Jones - 8 - Used all his strength and height to unsettle United. This was at its most obvious when he rose to nod home the winner.
Substitutes
Campbell - - n/a
Henderson - 6 - Helped guide the Sunderland fight, and showed experience beyond his years. |

!!!! Buuuuu utk nani, wellack, valencia... we want giggs... VAN DE SAR cepat2 la ko come back... khidmat ko diperlukan sangat2.. fletcher pun smlm ada something wrong.. evra ngan berbatov je yg OK.. PEMAIN2 MU bangkit WOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!! fergeson tulung la jgn turunkan nani @ valencia sbg kesebelasan utama..... bikin sakit hati ja tengok... :@ :@
