kebetulan sehari seblum berbaris ya, kamek org rehat, so semua berpakat ke miri...balit dr miri ya lah mek org terserempak dgn lori2 ya...dlm kol 7 cam ya...

Suspected molester remanded for five days
KUCHING: A man from Kampung Samariang was ordered to be remanded five days under police custody by the Magistrate抯 Court here yesterday on suspicion of alleged using force to outrage the modesty of a minor.
Magistrate Shahrizat Ismail ordered the 32-year-old suspect to be remanded until August 10 to facilitate investigation into the case.
The suspect was arrested at the State Library about 1.40pm on Sunday for allegedly outraging the modesty of a nine-year-old girl.
It was alleged that at about 12.20pm on August 5, the suspect grabbed the victim from behind and molested her.
In applying for the remand under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code, investigating officer Sergeant-Major Kabariah Abdullah told the court that the offence alleged committed was very serious as the victim was a minor.
The court was also told that the alleged offence was committed in a public place and the suspect was arrested on the spot. |

Murder at Central Park
Woman sprawled on the road dead, stabbed no less than five times in the lower right neck and upper chest area

KUCHING: The body of a murdered woman was found in the middle of theroad early yesterday morning by patrons of an entertainment house and a24-hour food centre in Central Park.
The victim has been identified as Catherine Chong Jung Jong, 32, of Jalan Sin San Tu in Batu Kawa.
She was believed to have been stabbed no less than five times in the lower right neck and upper chest area.
Several persons saw her motionless body around 1.30am lying face down in a pool of blood.
According to some of the patrons, she was seen at the entertainment house prior to the incident.
They immediately called the police and several police vehicles arrived around 1.40am and proceeded to cordon off the area.
The sight of the body and the presence of the police drew a large crowd of onlookers.
Not long after that, Kuching OCPD ACP Wong Wai Loong arrived at the scene to oversee the investigation.
Wong was joined by deputy OCPD Supt William Poro, senior officersfrom contingent headquarters, district police, CID, forensic police,and a dog unit.
Based on the trail of blood and the victim抯 brokenhigh-heeled shoes, it is believed that the victim was attacked at hercar after which she staggered for some 20 metres before finallycollapsing on the road.
Police searching the area later found a small, handle-less knifeseveral feet from the body, but it has not been confirmed if it was themurder weapon.
The victim抯 parents arrived at the scene about three hoursafter the incident and broke down upon seeing their daughter抯body.
The body was later taken to the Sarawak General Hospital mortuary for a post mortem.
Early yesterday, three persons - two men and a woman - were arrested in connection with the murder case.
In confirming the arrest, Kuching OCPD ACP Wong Wai Loong said thepolice had classified the case as murder and were looking into themotive behind the killing.
Late yesterday, the suspects were produced in court and placed undera 12-day remand to enable police to conduct further investigation. |

Pelajar maut rumah panjang terbakar
KAPIT: Seorang pelajar perempuan berusia 13 tahun rentung, manakalalebih 100 penghuni hilang tempat tinggal dalam kebakaran yangmemusnahkan rumah panjang Ringga Ujih di hulu Sungai Simunjan,kira-kira tiga jam perjalanan darat dan sungai dari sini malam kelmarin.
Dalam kejadian jam 9 malam Jumaat itu, Anita Semah Lucas, pelajarTingkatan Satu Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Nanga Terusa, SungaiBelawai, mati selepas terperangkap dalam biliknya.
Ketua Polis Daerah Kapit, Deputi SuperintendanJohar Ahmad, berkata mangsa dipercayai sedang tidur ketika kejadian dangagal keluar akibat asap tebal.
Mayat dibawa keluar pagi kelmarin dan dihantar ke Hospital Kapit untuk bedah siasat.
Ibu mangsa, Serau Janting, 40, berkata mereka sekeluarga sedang tidur,manakala suaminya, Lucas Manjang, 45, tiada di rumah kerana keluarberburu.
"Saya dikejutkan suara jiran yang menjerit sebelum terlihat api dan asap mula menyambar bahagian depan rumah.
"Saya mengejutkan semua anak dan mendukung anak bongsu turun ke luarrumah panjang dan menganggap Anita ada mengikut di belakang," katanyayang cedera ringan tangan kiri.
Serau berkata, anaknya itujarang pulang ke rumah kerana tinggal di asrama sekolah yang terletakkira-kira tiga jam berjalan kaki dari kediaman mereka.
"Selalunya dia tidak pulang cuti hujung minggu kecuali pada cutipersekolahan. Namun, petang Jumaat lalu dia tiba-tiba pulang denganmemberi alasan rindu kepada adiknya," katanya.
Seorangpenduduk, Nujong Jaw, 40, berkata api mula dikesan jam 9.30 malam darirumah kelima yang terletak di sebelah kanan rumah panjang sebelum marakke seluruh bahagian.
"Kami percaya api berpunca daripada baradapur kayu yang tidak dipadam sepenuhnya selepas penghuni menyiapkanmakan malam. Api pula marak pantas akibat cuaca kering.
"Tidak sampai sejam api membakar seluruh rumah dengan kebanyakan penghuni keluar sehelai sepinggang," katanya. |

Bride cries rape on wedding night
MIRI: An 18-year-old bride yesterday claimed that she was raped by a close friend of her husband on her wedding night.
The incident allegedly took place around 9pm in a worker抯 quarters in a log pond at Km 11.5, Jalan Miri-Bintulu.
As she was a little bit intoxicated, the bride was said to have goneback to her bedroom leaving her husband to entertain his friends andrelatives.
After a while, a man entered the bedroom and pointed a knife at herneck. The intruder told her not to scream or he would harm her and herhusband. The intruder, who was believed to be drunk, forced her to havesex with him.
After having sex with her, the intruder went back to his own roomand slept. The bride then told her husband of the incident andimmediately he went to Niah police station to lodge a report.
The police arrested the suspect around 3.30am yesterday even while he was still sleeping.
The suspect, 28, from Long Ikang in Baram was said to be also arelative of the husband and working at the same log pond with him.
He was taken to central police station here for further questioningwhile the victim was taken to Miri Hospital for medical examination. |
